That's the overall impression I've always gotten from the books - that they are WWII allegories (Lord of the Rings, too). OK Enough aleady! T H White Once and Future King, J RR Tolkien LOTR, Richard Adams Watership Down, JK Rowling Harry Potter.
Would you authors stop writing World War II analogies? We get the point. Hitler Bad.
