To add to their feelings of insecurity, Jews in the UK have also had to deal with an anti-Israel boycott movement. First the university teachers wanted to boycott Israeli academics. Now the Anglican Church has the same idea for Israeli products. But they prefer to call it "divestment." So much more civilized, old chap!

Is this the Anglican Church proper or one of it's affiliates that it has no control over?

As for Europe, Israel need not crave its acceptance. The Europeans will never be Israel`s equal. In the name of self-interest they have appeased Arab terrorism and oil blackmail for the past 30 years. The demographic time-bomb often spoken about in Israel ticks most loudly in Europe, which is now paying the heavy price of its appeasement of terror and its Faustian deal with the oil sheiks of Arabia.

___________________________________________________________

The analysis of Demographics in Europe compared with Israel is absurd. Israel has milions of Arabs in a population of 6 million. Europe has millions of arabs in a population of hundreds of millions. We stand at around a few percent in the EU while Israel must have twenty percent or so.

And the US is in bed with Saudi Arabia just as much as Europe, the chief propagator of Jihadi/Whabbism.

Personally I think that the tide is changing in public opinon about Muslims, with proper PR and sensible friendliness the UK and Israel will come together. I think people will realise that common enemeies mean common allies.

But the annoying thing that always happens is that every interview with an Israeli Official tends to echo the huster and bluster of this article. Angry people are a turn off to ignorant people. They need a soft spoken glove puppet to tell them whats what. In the modern media world Israel needs to analyze the reaction to their statements and change the tone accordingly, especially in Europe.

Genesis 37:34 And Jacob rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his loins, and mourned for his son many days.

Gen 37:35 And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted; and he said, For I will go down into the grave unto my son mourning. Thus his father wept for him.

***

These Brothers were SO jealous that Jacob loved Joseph the MOST that they murdered their own brother and then returned to their father - tried to comfort him - but The Father would have NOTHING to do with them, their comfort, their love, nothing!

Israel is His Most Beloved, Now and Forever. Nothing will ever change that!

"Let`s start with our existence. We must stop apologizing for it. We do not need 100 million mostly illiterate Arabs to confirm that we exist. Perhaps the very fact that there is hardly a week in which our tiny country is absent from world headlines is proof positive that we exist – and in a very big way. We need to assert that we are the Children of Israel and that we will never leave our God-given land. We need to declare that we alone shall determine our security needs and safe borders; not the U.S., the UN or the EU. So long as the U.S. State Department gives support and weaponry to Saudi sponsors of terror, it loses credibility as Israel`s ally."

Amen, right-on, and tell it like it is - Ping!

If this divestment thing is UK initiated then please let me know the details as my Grandma is an Anglican. I can let her know about it and she can voice my opinion and hers.

Bush claims to be pushing democracy in the Mideast. I have serious doubts the Arabs will ever be democratic.

Bush's other push is on Israel. The result is a severe loss of democracy in Israel as Sharon acts like a tyrant. Not to mention the Arab danger which will result.

All together things are going from bad to worse.

What is wrong with an article such as this, is that compared to the current reality, this is all wishful thinking.

As I understand it, it's the executive council of the Church, and the UK has no direct input. You could find some info on the other threads.

FRmail me to be added or removed from this Judaic/pro-Israel/Russian Jewry ping list.

Absolutely not.
Hatred of Jews doesn't grow
out of ad campaigns.

It will not be "cured"
by ad campaigns. It's a sign
of our modern times

that "civilized" folks
think they can change evil hearts
with advertising!

If any of us live long enough to see European attitudes change to believe that maybe, just maybe, Israel is in the right against the savages who would destroy her, maybe the West would then have a chance of winning this war of civilizations.

>Bush claims to be pushing democracy in the Mideast. I have serious doubts the Arabs will ever be democratic

But what if they did?!
What if Arab countries did
go democratic?

If Arab people
HATE JEWS and Arab people
have democracy,

wouldn't the leaders
of Arab democracies
have to attack Jews,

because citizens
tell their leaders what to do
in democracies . . .

This is good for the most part. But the US has earned itself some right to say what Israel does. Not the final word, by any means, but it's been a true ally even when very few others have been. And for that alone, it means their input need ALWAYS be carefully considered, even if it must sometimes be ultimately rejected.

I only wish my own country (Canada) were nearly so faithful.

True. The part that I quoted struck me as a part of the article where the author was right on the money.

Israel truly is a marvel, and Israelies have so much to share. I wonder if they are helping in Afghanistan and Iraq. If so, how? We cannot bow to the racism of Arabs.

They did pinpoints for the Americans in Iraq. I don't think they were in Afghanistan though.
