However, Blakey notes that some federal courts have already ruled that governments can't try to recover the cost of being a government.
Can and do.

I do not think this will stand because they have to prove THOSE specific illegals were SPECIFICALLY causeing the problems.
THEN you have to show some form of connection.
It is a weak case to start.

It is a weak case to start. I agree but his heart's in the right place.

Hiring illegals with no paperwork is one thing. However, it doesn't seem quite fair to prosecute businesses that hire illegals with all the necessary paperwork that was obtained legally or illegally.
What is the government going to do to protect the integrity of their documentation?
As many already know, a TN drivers license is worth absolutely nothing, now.

I believe that Robert Vasquez and his county's efforts to recover costs employing RICO statutes against illegal alien employers just might be successful.

As the man said, there are certain questions that are not allowed to be asked.
I wonder if, "Are you an illegal alien"? is one of them?

We have a couple of Big landscaping companies around the Baltimore area(Brickman Landscaping and RAR Landscaping Co) that have been caught numorous times,by the FEDS, hiring Illegal-Aliens, 30-80 at a pop.
And since the FEDS up to this point have allowed these traitors to still operate, I am putting some bugs(so to speak), in the American run and operated Landscaping companies around here to go after these traitors using the RICO act. It's just a matter of time.

I hope this starts a trend. It is painfully obvious that the federal government is going to do nothing more than give lip service to the problem. Perhaps if there is enough outrage and action at the local level, there will be some changes.

Good!
The employers are the ones who are benefiting from illegals in the first place. They should be fined! Taxpayer's are footing the bill for medical care, schooling, housing and food for illegals.

However, Blakey notes that some federal courts have already ruled that governments can't try to recover the cost of being a government.I know that government goes after deadbeat parents to recover child welfare payments. That sounds like "recovering the cost of being a government" to me.

It is a weak case to start.Whether they prevail or not, just the cost of defending it will make a business think twice about hiring illegals. Not to mention the bad PR of being dragged into court and pilloried for it. Around the country, businesses are sued daily for violations of the Americans With Disabilities Act, and they almost always fold and pay the extortionist's plaintiff's demands because they don't want the hassle. The same principle could apply in bringing RICO cases against businesses hiring illegals.

"
Employers say the lawsuit could spell the end of many labor-intensive businesses that rely on immigrant labor, or at least drive up the cost, said Ann Bates, executive director of the Idaho Nursery and Landscape Association."
She would've made a great spokesperson for the confederacy prior to the civil war.
