If you think the Democrats will follow the Buchanan approach on immigration (what all the single issue immigration voters want) then you're a fool. The Democrats, no matter what they might say, would do nothing less than grant full amnesty to every illegal on a regular basis.

I wont vote Dem , but I sure as hell wont vote for the current Republican agenda of illegal immigration. If the Dems get in so be it. The Republic will survive. yea and the problem will still be there, along with a bunch of other problems

... vote democrat and see if it gets fixed any faster.
In other words, sit down and shut up?
The GOP does not own my vote. If they don't differentiate themselves from the Dems, they're going to find out what it feels like when their base stays home. Mindlessly voting GOP is no better than mindlessly voting Democrat.

Not a chance I could find a Dem worth supporting. I'm fortunate enough to live in a red county. My representation is in the same song book as me.
More importantly, they wouldn't blow smoke at me on an issue that I felt was important.
That'a something I can get from a Dem. But if things should change,...?

Our Washington RINOs will do nothing until they have absolutely no other choice. Since they long ago stopped giving a damn what their constituents say or want, the only effective weapon we have left is the contributions money. I have already informed all of the usual GOP begging agencies there will be no furtrher contributions from this family until I see a conservative agenda being carried out rather than merely talked to death.
I'm tired of the good intentions. I want to see some action. Or no more $$.

I keep saying, this is THE issue of 2008, and so far, NO candidate on either side has really addressed it (and Tancredo is just not a high-profile enough guy to be a serious candidate).
The 2008 GOP candidate has not yet appeared, because whoever it is will have this as a PRIMARY issue.

Good observation. Which one? The observation that George W. Bush won the election and the democrats are the ones considered "mainstream"? :D

If it is so very important to these babosos why the hell have they sat on their butts and done nothing for so long on this issue.
The borders aren't a sieve they are an ocean.

Fortunately I don't plan to sit and cry about if the democrats do win. I plan to keep the pressure on no matter who wins.

I'm sorry but to claim immigration voters are "one Issue" is nonsense. Immigration affects just about every social issue from traffic congestion to health care.

A friend sent me that same link over a week ago. God help me but that's the funniest (and saddest) thing I've seen in a while.

Because 3 years away from the national election is too soon to stake out a position, and she will need the immigrant vote for 06.

In all honesty, it just might get fixed faster with Dems back in control! When they start rolling out the amnesty bills, the average citizen just might start paying attention and demand something be done. A big splash of reality is more attention grabbing than death by a thousand cuts. Ever here the frog in the pot story?

Move to Mexico, they are all here !! LOL! That is exactly what I've been saying.

I'm thinking the Dems might have an interest in a closed border. They have the currently largest minority in their back pocket (blacks) and there is a danger that the more family-oriented Hispanics could start supporting the GOP. In any event, the Hispanic vote is up for grabs now. If they can seal the border, they will still own the biggest minority vote lock, stock and barrel. And they will also help to nail that down even more, as there is plenty of antagonism between the black and Hispanic minorities in terms of competition for government benefits.
Maybe Hillary wasn't kidding about that border security thing!
