Even a cursory perusal of the Koran and Sunnah/Hadiths will reveal violence and intolerance at the core of Islam's belief system. In particular, Muslims who espouse peaceful practices are held in contempt within Islam. For example, take a look at Qur'an 33:60
"Truly, if the Hypocrites, those in whose hearts is a disease, those who stir up sedition, the agitators in the city, do not desist, We shall urge you (Muhammad) to go against them and set you over them. Then they will not be able to stay as your neighbors for any length of time. They shall have a curse on them. Whenever they are found, they shall be seized and slain without mercy—a fierce slaughter—murdered, a horrible murdering. (Such was) the practice (approved) of Allah among those who lived before. No change will you find in the practice of Allah."

But you would not be talking about Christianity. You would be talking about Christian in name only popes, cardinals, bishops, of the Bazyntine/Greek, Roman Catholic church set up after Constantine came to power, claimed he converted to Christianty, then set it up as a state religion,then through the 900 years or so period of the Crusades, again, all this stuff had nothing to do with the first century Christainity Jesus initiated on his dying on the cross for the redemption of sins for all who really believe the gospels and live a holy live. Nothing in Christianity and for that matter Judeioism has a parallel in Islam. There are enough well scholared books available on comparisions etc., for anyone with any real desire to learn the differences to access.
Unless you did a few year study of the Bible, OT/NT along with a lot of helper materials chances are your knowledge of what real Christianity represents and what it asks of one is quite limited.
But I for one have on this site always championed the cause of the decent folks in Iran. I wish those 50 mullahs and their minons would disapear for your nations/peoples sake.

This will not pass the smell test until some Muslim militant actually threatens or kills a CAIR member for making, supporting, or appearing in this television ad. If Theo Van Gogh can be shot fifteen times and have his throat slit for making a short film about the treatment of women in Muslims society, then shouldn't CAIR worry that the same can be done to them for daring to speak out against Muslim terrorism?

Ali knows this. He absolutely rejects Islam as a religion, but (oh, and there's that big but, again) doesn't want to put his Muslim family members and friends immediately on the defensive. He'd rather engage them and bring them around to the absurdity, blood-lust, utter hypocrisy when dealing with Muslim vs infidel treatment, and the 7th Century barbarism that is Islam. He does debate with fellow Muslims on occasion, but knows that some of his relatives and friends are beyond hope and would just as well kill him--and his family--for being "unbelievers." It's a tough row to handle.
Ali admits that most intelligent Muslims don't actually study the Quran or Hadith very thoroughly (sounds like some Christians I know--although Christianity is so superior in its true belief system, IMHO). If they do, they either go crazy and obey its violent exhortations or shrug their shoulders and live their life as they see the civilized world lives it. The vast majority of Muslims get most of their religious ideas from the Imams or Mullahs who are usually power-hungry creeps who constantly argue (and oft times fight violently) amongst themselves as to what constitutes "correct" Muslim practice.
Ali has pointed out that the Arabic culture (very different from the Persian culture) is very prone to violence and emotional outbursts. The radical Shite Mullahs who hold sway over Iran and parts of Iraq have more in common with their Sunni Whabbist brothers than they would care to admit. Ali also claims any blossoming of knowledge and tolerance that occurred during the so-called Islamic Golden Age of the 12th and 13th Centuries was because of the Persian influence--it never came out of the Arabian desert tribal culture.

The things Christianity forbids are bad- murder, lying, stealing etc.
Islam, the Koran, DEMANDS murder, lying and violence- even against their own! Completely opposite belief systems.
So how can anyone with an iota of intelligence and conscience subscribe to Islam willingly?

How about denouncing terrorism in the mosques and actively evicting all who advocate it from Muslim circles? Anything less than that is just window dressing.
Thanks--I was just about to correct you. No, Ali does not believe in Islam. He believes that any religion can be carried too far and that Islam in particular has extremism, deceit, and bloodshed built into the core beliefs. Anyone who reads the Quran and Hadith could figure that one out. Ali says "don't listen to the Isamic clerics--they lie to their own people as well as the infidel to maintain their power."
