Do you listen to Severin every day for four hours? Unless you do I don't think you can have a definitive understanding of his politics and understanding of the issues as you offered. I listen to him enough over the last five years to know quite a bit about him, have had a beer with him (he drinks martinis) on occasion when he has been on tour with his program, and have had a men's room meeting on one occasion (after the drinks of course).

Considering he claims he is libertarian in his views and a libertine in action only a GOP type who claims his version of politics is the one and only true and apostolic conservative position could disagree with him on many issues. For example, Severin never faulted Clinton for his sexual escapades but held him in contempt for lying. Severin never has faulted GWB for going to war in Iraq based on the facts as understood at the time that Iraq posed a danger to USA but since Husein has been deposed and the immediate threat is diminished Severin believes GWB must pull back as no American soldier's or Sailor's life is worth losing in a police or social work activity to establish democracy for a people who wouldn't know what to do with it if they ever had it as for several thousand years they have never strived for it.

Severin is the man of nuance and inside thinking on politics. He is boring if only one wants to hear the GOP mantra, GOP good, Dems bad, GOP great, Dems evil...

Severin is a man many GOP types and insiders hate because he was the campaign manager behind Buchanan's run for office and although Jay helped GHWB win his campaign for office, since he has affiliated himself with Buchanan the GOP tossed him aside.

Jay has yet to find his true voice on the radio as he is an equally hated personality by the left and the GOP. His voice projects to the educated mainstream family conservative who isn't necessarily religious or doctrinaire but believes in the US Constitution and the freedom of mankind.

I have not listened to him four hours a day nor have I ever had a drink with him (I don't drink martinis) and I certainly have never stood next to him while whistling and staring at the tile wall. I still would like to know who he voted for in the last election.

His comment this morning about the people in the White House being very intelligent, "well, with one exception..." is very telling to me.

He's an elite snob who thinks he's intelligent (Algore and John Kerry come to mind) and he's got a horrible sense of humor. Like all Liberals they know the truth about the Karl Rove story but continue the lie for political gain. The reports (complete with facts) are out there, there's no excuse for what the leftist trash continue to spout. They are attempting to deceive the American public for political gain and Severin is just as guilty, as well as a host of others who continue to bow to Imus in exchange for notoriety.

P.S. I hope you washed before you shook his hand.

You know, I never shook his hand that I can recall.

He clearly voted for GWB as he made it very clear that both candidates had weaknesses and were flawed that he spoke of the lesser of evils as he believes GWB isn't conservative enough. An example he cites (several examples) is the signing of the CFR bill into law (first amendment issue) and giving away $15 billion to Africa for AIDS (will be factored by race pimps like Jesse Jackson and skimmed). He voted for GWB because he believes the election was about the Supreme Court and the nominees expected (he was right a year and a half ago) and he expects GWB to do a better job at protecting the US Constitution than Kerry with respect to the courts. He is all over GWB about the borders and criminal aliens as many of us are.

How do you feel now? BTW, his job is to attract and keep listeners on his radio program so they can sell stuff and he can make money. He does a very good job at that since he is the number one TSH in Boston. If he was too liberal or too GOP (notice I didn't write conservative) he would not attract the audience he does. He is in business after all to make money.

Oftentimes Jay has said very good things about GWB, that his heart is in the right place and that he is a "good" man. Jay however has never said that GWB is the brightest bulb in the chandelier. Jay, notwithstanding his dislike for liberals or phony conservatives, desires a President who can speak in complete sentences conveying complete thoughts.

So are you saying he probably voted for John Kerry because John Kerry would have been considered, not necessarily more intelligent but more articulate?

I said he clearly voted for GWB, for all the reasons in that post. I know it is difficult for some people to get beyond GWB good, Dems bad, GOP great, Dems evil, but try, you, might be better for it.

I do have issues with GWB but I don't resort to childish swipes at the man who, time and time again, has proven his intelligence is far beyond the left's as well as the MSM's itelligence. It is comical to see these so-called pundits and self-proclaimed experts who have the facts right in front of them, continue to spout the left's lies (as Jay Severin was doing this morning). Hold Karl Rove to higher standards? Higher than say.... Sandy Berger? Algore? Hillary? Bill? (lying under oath was minor compared to what charges could have been brought).

If he is ticked off about GWB for other reasons than fine, but as a pundit, to try and spin something totally unrelated (to his beef with GWB) out of spite is childish and he should be embarassed. It's called credibility and based on his appearance this morning on the Imus show, he has as much credibility as Don Imus himself.

The number one host in Boston talk radio would have to, at the very least, keep his show somewhere near the center to left center field. But if it's anything like his appearance this morning, his show wouldn't last more than a month in fly-over country.

Regards

Severin is an idiot who thinks he is a genius. The guy is always wrong. He was wrong when he supported McCain over Bush. He was wrong when he had Kerry winning the elcetion in the run up to the election and he was laughably wrong on election eve when he bought the early returns as a a lndslide for Cambodia Johnny.

But the worst part is when he goes into his stupid spiel about Bush "asking" Mothers and Fathers to send their children to Iraq to be killed for nothing. Nobody sent me anywhere when I enlisted and nobody sends these brave kids enlisting today anywhere. They are men and women making their own decisions and the implication that Mommy and Daddy are "sending" them off to camp pisses me off royally.

As for Imus, he's an ass. Bernie has swallowe the kool aid without bothering with the water and Fineman morphs into whatever character the show he is appearing on needs.

I agree with everything you wrote except the idiot part. He is far from an idiot but is indeed flawed, even if we can't see it, we all are. He may have thought highly of McCain once, several years ago, as a man who could win an election, but since McCain-Feingold and for several other reasons of late, Jay holds him in low esteem.

The part about sending our men and women to war is somewhat accurate in that he speaks of us, the government, asking Mrs. Smiths child to fight for us when the government hasn't always done everything we can to win without our sacrifice. He has spoken at length about how our men went door to door in Falougha getting sniped at when back in the days of WWII the city would have been leveled first then our men would have entered.

You must understand he holds our armed forces in the highest regard and only wishes their victory and safe return.
