Ann nails it again! Always a pleasure to read her articles.
So, with Rehnquist in the hospital, will the MSM divert it's attention away from Rove tomorrow??? Hmmm.

Democrats believe that because Wilson's wife worked at the CIA, the White House should not have been allowed to mention that it was she who sent him to Niger. Ann identifies the crux of the whole issue. That what Wilson relates about Niger is any more valuable than any tourist or activist derives from his qualifications, mandate, and selection criteria as an agent. All of these are undermined by the spousal nepotism.
The Democrats/MSM have arranged it to be a crime to bring Wilson's credibility into question. Neat trick that.
Surely operatives working under cover must have guidelines against involving immediate relatives in their work, as the relative provides a linkage back to the agent. If Plame's cover was so damn important she shouldn't have risked it by having her husband working openly in the same field.

The media's quest to get Rove and by extension through him, the President, has flopped. But liberals never learn from their defeats. They'll keep on finding new ways to slam the door in their faces.

Has anyone thought to ask the New York Times if they stand behind Wilson and his bogus story. High journalistic standards at the Times, eh?
To: Rummyfan
It would be so sweet if this whole thing ended up with an indictment of Wilson for perjury or obstruction.

Clown Wilson thrust himself on the nation in July 2003 when he wrote an op-ed for the New York Times claiming Bush had lied in his State of the Union address.

My money says the Clintoon's are behind the whole thing.
It is their attempt to cover up the fact that they knew Saddam was attempting to get/or had already got Yellow Cake from Niger. And didn't do anything about.
That sort of info could sink future Presidential bids,So it had to be suppressed or made to look discounted/discredited at any cost.
Enter a couple of Clintoon Butt Buddies and PRESTO!!!
Attack on Bush Administration and cover up Clintoon incompetence in one shot.

Ann is a partisan. And boy do I love her for it! The treatment that Karl Rove has been receiving is a perfect example (I think) of the need for more conservative thinkers to follow Ann's style.
I do believe the left is on a witch hunt for Rove. They think they smell his blood in the "water" and they are on a feeding frenzing (Locally, I was listening this morning to a radio show, "Cary and Bill"- I thought they were incredibly sickening on the subject).
Like they do on many issues, the Left is following their desires not the facts and I think Ann does a good job outlining the facts below. And here I really do appreciate her sarcasm.

Great line:
Driven by that weird obsession liberals have of pretending they are Republicans in order to attack Republicans, Wilson implied he had been sent to Niger by Vice President Dick Cheney.
