You're kidding, right. If Rove resigns because of this trumped up nonsense, the right side of the blogosphere should turn in our keyboards because we allowed it to happen.

I just can't seem to care about this story. It strikes me as another in a long line of mountains out of molehills the press builds to make Bush look bad. Yawn...

Yeah, I agree that Miller's source is someone else. I doubt it's Wilson himself. That would be incredibly shocking, I think. Tenet, possibly, but more likely, I think, it is this guy in Cheney's office, who's name I've forgotten, who was rumored to be the source in the first instance. I say it's not Tenet because Tenet supposedly tried to convince Novak not to publish the story, though he obviously goofed it big time. Also, it was Tenet who asked for the investigation.

The other possibility is that Miller made up the whole story out of whole cloth, which would be more in character for the NYT, afterall.

Are you thinking of Scooter Libby? I don't think Miller would fall on her sword to protect one of Cheney's guy.

Hell, it could have been Plame. The media already knew she worked for the CIA.

Yeah, Miller would do that. I still think it's more likely though that when they finally get the notes, the notes will say that some low level Bozo told her--maybe the janitor, and everyone will then realize that the story was ghost written by Jayson Blair.

You know, the more I think about it, the more I think they are going soft on her. Why don't they just bust into her office and seize the notes? I'm sure they could get a warrant.
