Indonesia for example, is a 'fledgeling' democracy, Pakistan is presently under 'military rule' via Mushareff, 'sustained democratric tradition' obviously means a democracy that has lasted a little longer than from breakfast until dinner...Egypt is a bit wobbly but the Egyptian government has the same enemies Pakistan and Turkey has; fanatical islamists who want to bring down the government.
