The TV weather people are already calling her Emily. *Sigh*
I heard that!
Ahh, Just in time for TD #7! ;)
But it's only a little wind & rain...
Try vacationing in Myrtle Beach for a week starting the weekend the original "Jaws" was released. while being young and stupid enough to see the movie...
That put a damper on things let me tell you... :)
Corin, can't you find somewhere else to go on vacation? :-)
I didn't hear any fox weatherheads this hurricane.
I suspect that we will catch the moisture remnants come Saturday or Sunday. It's going to stall out over the Ohio Valley then be pushed southeast by a high pressure front which will bring it to us.
I meant #5 is coming here, according to him.
Don't know what the forecasters predicted for Dennis, except the NHC was very close.
This new one is currently plotted to pass over or very near to Hispaniola. If it catches the mountains there, that would be the best scenario for the U.S. mainland--bad for Haiti.
bump
Only four July tropical depressions have formed so far out and none have developed into hurricanes. This season hasn't exactly been typical so far so we'll see.
We'll be at North Topsail the end of the month, if it's still there. If we don't get Emily then I'm guessing we'll get Franklin. Ah, well, so much for planning and anticipating the time off for the last 10 months, as well as $1500 for the week's rental.
Last year we beat feet out of Sanibel a couple of weeks ahead of Charley, so I have a feeling this year we're going to catch it in the rear end. I get tired of Monopoly and euchre awfully fast.
You deserve an award for all you did for these threads.
Well, next year we're going to Orlando during Hurricane Season.
Last year we probably would have been okay with Alex even if he'd landed further north. The house we usually rent is on the sound side (belongs to my brother). This year we're a bit closer to the beach.
But we bought renter's insurance.
That's what that "optional" insurance is for.
So did I. And I went in May.......LOL.
Still, I'd rather go than get my money back. Dodging hurricanes is becoming part of the deal with vacations at the shore nowadays.
I'll second that!
We usually rent my brother's house (at a HUGH discount). But my sister-in-law accidentally double-booked us out. Paying full price, I just don't have the kind of luck to NOT buy the insurance.
Last time I was in Arizona people kept saying "we only get three days of rain here per year." It rained for four days...
Anyway, the weather was so rotten here, there wasn't much else for me to do.
Looks like it's following the same track as Dennis, except a little to the north; bad news for the Keys and the West Coast of Florida is this course holds.
The Gulf of Mexico is starting to resemble a bowling alley.
