"He's old school," Lisa Garner said of her neighbor. "My grandfather would have done the same thing. "It bothers me because we have children. It bothers me that anybody would intrude into your home," Garner said. " . . . . because I'm not old school, and have been taught to fear this and beg for mercy if it happens. Because guns are bad."

Did anyone else find the following line disturbing?
"AirCare helicopters flew the men to Grant County Hospital."

Ahh, an old man and his 357. I've always been a sucker for feel-good stories with a happy ending.
I love tough old geezers. I'm glad he wasn't Mr. Wilson though.

Earlier today, we heard about the 64 year old woman blowing a bad guy away, and now this.
It's those steroids, except they're misreading the label when it says to shoot up.

I'll say, unless he gets on her bad side. Then he might get shot on his bad side.

Musgrave had a message for anybody thinking about breaking into somebody's home.
"Yeah, don't pick the wrong door," Musgrave said.
Now that's what I'm taking about

I guess there is something better than an old man and his 357.
P.S. I've never had a woman look at me like that.
To: sully777
.357 isn't that bad.Noisy.

Thanks for the ping! Another great self defense story. I'm glad the home owner was able to shoot the perps.

Don Wade and Roma on WLS were just talking about this story!
A caller said that the old fella was wrong to shoot the guys breaking in because they may have been there to warn the home owner of a problem, like a fire in the house! They could even have been fire fighters! LOL!
A more sensible caller replied to that by saying if he were ever to warn a homeowner of a problem, he'd ring the doorbell, knock, or call out, "YooHoo!" before he broke in through the back door late at night!
To: Hank Rearden
I read that differently, that she was afraid of 'home invasions', not pistol packing pappys!
