I hope this story isn't true. If it is all of those involved might as well call it a day.

There will be those with weak constitutions or with little resolve who will indeed toss in the towel early on. Good for them for getting out of the way and good for those with the steely resolve to see this shake-out cruise, if you may, or portion of organizing something on this scale and scope through to the next level.

It has been my experience that when you have this many people with varying degrees of ego's (and with political ambitions) involved in a volunteer organizing effort that you're bound to have some growing pains. So don't despair too quickly and give the evolving leaders a chance to pull this together, to seperate the wheat from the chaff.
