I certainly hope so. Do you know something I don't? I would love for it to be a certain senator.
The only person the reporters would protect who could be considered a GOP source is Powell, imo. The other GOP sources they'd give up in a heartbeat. But I don't think it's Powell, primarily because I really don't think as a former military man that he'd let an agent's name pass his lips and because he certainly wouldn't let his image be besmirched by telling Cooper and Miller that they were released from confidentiality.
Also, can you imagine Miller thinking that Powell was coerced into doing anything? LOL
Where's Floyd Abrams.... on the second team now?
How would Powell have any idea that
a) Wilson went until Wilson proclaimed it
and
b) How in the world would Powell have any idea how Wilson got picked for the trip?
He simply wouldn't know why Wilson was sent. Neither would anyone at the WH. Just those involved at the CIA and maybe some cronies at State---lower than Secretary of State.
In one of the Time articles Thielmann was quoted extensively about the Niger documents.
Shep must have pics of Fox executives having sex with animals. Don't know how he's survived his blunders.
There's one other possibility but I can't remember his name right now and it's driving me nuts because I generally remember it.
He worked for the CIA and when he left last year he wrote a book. Schumer or something like that.
I agree with you. Not Powell.
Miller is a drama queen on her way to journalism's martyrdom.
It has not been stated explicitly that there was no crime re Plame's name. We have been making an educated guess.
I do think Fitzgerald's other grand jury into the Islamic Charities is a separate investigation, but I think this Plame grand jury is looking into broader aspects of the saga then the revealing that she worked at CIA and recommended her husband.
But I'm just deducing.
Actually the GJ thought there may be a chance Powell knew something because he too testified before them.
I think the CIA guy who wrote the book "Imperial Hubris" was named Schaeffer.
I'm just hearing they can't speak...I wouldn't swear to it.
:)
Miller claiming she too was released from confidentiality but felt the person was coerced was just so much baloney.
Just a way to further gin up that it was Karl Rove, imo, hoping that most people don't know or have forgotten that Rove released reporters from confidentiality a long time ago.
That's it, Schaeffer. Thanks for remembering...it was driving me over the edge. LOL
The only problem with him is he couldn't possibly be called an administration official.
Amen to that. I nearly collapsed the first time I saw it.
That was a couple of years ago, I think. Any of you recovering newbies out there who haven't seen it, you really want to watch that clip.
pmsnbc talking head just said this is potentially the biggest scandal of the Bush administration's second term and keeps saying Karl Rove, Karl Rove, Karl Rove. I sense deflection and hurricane force spin.
Novak said his source was "not a political gunslinger," and that description doesn't seem to apply to Rove. Rove is Mr. Politics.
Thanks for the interesting link on Powell.
My thought was that the reporters had a source inside the CIA or FBI that they were talking to.
Gary Schoen -- "First In" author -- he has made some pointedly negative comments about the WOT and the decisions made to take troops from Afghanistan to Iraq.
