Since you are obviously ignorant on the subject and willing to accept rumors which have been continually proven wrong, let me answer your question, and provide a little education...

How about... Raise $50 million for cancer research in the last year just from the little "yellow rubberbands". A little bit more than "jingo-istic feel goodism", no?

To be honest, I personally believe that Lance has some very serious character flaws, but what he's accomplished, on the bike and off, gains my respect, appreciation, and even rooting for him to win NUMBER 7.

BTW, I don't think his character flaws includes any ethical issues with respect to his racing or his charity, they're more moral and spiritual issues. But, who the hell am I to judge?
