If the USA falls for this garbage I'm gonna be pissed! George W. Bush already fell for this garbage when he announced a couple of days ago that aid to Africa will be doubled. Bush is about as worthless as the MTV coverage of this horrible event.

"Justice, not charity,"
They know not what they talk about. How about the poor in the rest of the world? This event is so intolerant.
I heard someone say 6000 people die of aids each day in Africa. I question this, but the more important point is that it was compared to two 9-11's each day. They are USING 9-11 to promote this event!!! How dare they.

I also remember in '85 when, unbelievably, instead of showing the long-awaited Zeppelin reunion (live), Dick Clark showed that video (taped) of Mick Jagger and David Bowie jumping around and liposuction to their cover version of "Dancing In The Street."
I think I'm still in shock over that.
Finally, Clark decided to actually show us the musical event of the year which was happening live, and we joined Zeppelin in progress.
Drew, if you don't think they'll dare to interrupt Pink Floyd, I fear you're in for a rude awakening. Don't be surprised, if, right in the middle of the guitar solo in "Wish You Were Here", MTV cuts to a tape of Jessica or Ashlee Simpson's latest video.

My son works at NE Airport and told me the pilots are saying the crowd isn't as large as expected. I have it on AOL feed on my son's computer in the next room.

Dave is dead to me. It's too bad. I really enjoyed his early albums.

Smoke on the Water ... sounds pretty good for such old guys ;)

I guess the powers that be said you could dress casual and not into your warped ideological message uniform.
I see the "overtly mature" singer for Green Day wore his uniform and Michael Stipe had some form of a perverted message uniform on but that is about it.

at least in the world of sports, they just can't compete when they get old ,... The Groaning Bones are still touring!

"liposuction" was supposed to be "lip-synching." stupid spell-checker changed it :)
To: rushfreedom
Not only that. They believe 9-11 was preventable, but AIDS is not.

I guess MTV never heard of Deep Purple, all I am getting is a flashback to Live Aid '85. Will check the feed.

I like seeing old guys from the 60's getting together to rock. There's something reassuring and comforting about it, not to mention a whole lot of fun.

do you know the story that song tells?

I'm not sure (concert recording?) ... but HUSH is jamming ok now (better than Dave Matthews at least)

I saw Deep do Hush at The Electric Circus on St Marks,NYC,..way back ['68??]
To: Dad yer funny
needless to say it sounded better then ... but this sounds pretty good compared to all the rest of the 90's / 2000 era crap
To: Steven W.
I guess Ritchie Blackmore was smart enough not to show up. That or he just does not get along with both Ians, Glover, or Lord (Or anyone for that matter).
Blackmore's singer/wife is cute though.

Around the time of the tsunami I looked up how many people die in the world on an average day. It's around 150 thousand. About double that (just over 300k) are born every day.
