LOL!
Are ya gonna stalk the evil one? LOL!
goodonya!
Mark Lunsford has been hitting
brick walls. In NJ & NY. He
was very disappointed in how
little interest those states
were in Mark's plight.
I think Sensenbrenner(sp?) will
say all the things Mark wants
to hear but not holding out
much hope the congress will
pass a bill to everyone's
satisfaction.
Nor do I think ankle monitors
are the answer. Those can be
easily cut off. PLUS! Watch
the ACLU step in and say how
unconstitutional it is..."These
people have paid their debt to
society....." blah, blah, blah.
Spent a few minutes at FDLE website. My Central Florida county is small- we have (as of today) 347 REGISTERED sex offenders living in this county. I emphasize registered- how many are UNREGISTERED and unknown???
THAT is a big problem...
I know that if I were a sex offender, I wouldn't be inclined to register...
So probably the answer to your question is LOTS!
I heard on FNC, when Jessica Lunsford was missing, there are 500,000 known, nationwide.
I don't recall if those are registered or not.
They should be automatically be registered by a State, at time of parole.
Leaving it up to the parolee to register is just wrong thinking.
I've seen some pretty dumb ones in my 20 years. If he comes back in he's fair game in my book.
I'll let you know what happens at court.
We need more citizens like you.
This is where I am frustrated. The feds pass laws up to the ying yang regulating everything in our lives. But when it comes time to protect the most vulnerable among us, they do nothing.
A federal registry will not help or do anything to solve the problem. But it will take away the cover of ignorance from those so inclined.
(And I still like Rep Andrews - but not living in NJ I am judging only by what I saw post 9/11)
The laws they have passed for
offenders are so full of loopholes,
you can strain rice through them.
A National Registry will accomplish
nothing......I agree.
She's OK, Thank you. It did shake her up a bit.
It's nice putting them away, I wish they'd stay in alot longer though. Another one in our zip code just went away, he'll be going for a long time. He went away once for molesting kids, he got out and molested 12 more.
His parents claim he was framed.
"Whereabouts Unknown"
or "Regular Visitor"
"Transient"
For the first time I checked the registery here in Fla. It was a pretty well organized website. You can search by name or a geographic area. I was AMAZED! I realize the databases have limits, but it is also a good idea to inform citizens about how easy it is to access. At least it helps to educate our citizens. Somehow, when you see the actual pictures and info on 81 offenders in a 5 mile radius of your address...it changes the reality of your perspective.
Having said that. Predators are not "curable". And I believe the tide is turning with our citizens that we are no longer naive and so "sympathetic". I still find it difficult to understand why we can not give them a choice...be in jail for life or go to an island somewhere that you can't leave and just deal with that.
That list isn't very good. That is like Michigan. They don't differentiate between dangerous pedaphiles and those who were caught in a Senior/Freshman romance gone bad. I have a neighbor like that. He isn't dangerous, but there are no levels here in Michigan. They are all lumped together.
I think that is why there is an "uptick" of sex offenses, is because they put everything pertaining to sex on the list. Some offenses are not predatory.
Registry is mandatory. They don't have a choice. If they don't register, and then they are found, they finish their sentence in prison.
This whole thing today is very creepy...
What is ironic for me personally is, last week I was at my daughter's house babysitting my granddaughter---about 5 minutes after my daughter left for work, my cell phone rang and it was her.
She was down the street and called to tell me that when she backed out of the driveway she saw a man pull into the driveway and just sit there....she noticed he had a MISSOURI license plate...he kept sitting in the car for about 10-15 minutes...
She called me back and was crying hysterically saying he was getting out of the car...I took Chase and ran to master bedroom, locked the door, into bathroom and locked the door.
All of a sudden I heard very loud banging and the doorbell at the same time...and it went on for about 5 minutes, then stopped...
She called and told me the police were on their way...but he started banging again...
Finally, the police got there, and approached him...he was AT THE WRONG ADDRESS....
Anyway...needless to say, I was jumpy the rest of the day--I even kept on the alarm system...
Then, today I read that this pervert in Idaho had a stolen plate from MISSOURI....gack!
It's past time for We the people, to take back our freedoms.
Children should be able to play in their front yards, ride their bikes in a safe environment w/out being harmed by predators.
Same goes for everyone else.
Island, exactly---that is why I suggested Gitmo!
On Fox News today they were saying that this guy was a class 3 sex offender which is very, very bad....but he was free!
Why, so after they rape and murder again, you'll know where to look?
aacckkk!!
His parents claim he was framed.
How can someone be framed for 12?
His parents should have to do life w/him
