The reporter claimed wrist and neck pain. He didnt look so hurt to me, but who knows.

Quick thinking on his part. Good move.

...the TKO of a water cooler June 17 that resulted in a broken bone...

Sheesh. Couldn't he have just sent it to the Time Out Chair for being bad?

One reporter left on a stretcher.

Mixed emotions on my part but what the heck, one is a start........

Yea, I agree. I do not believe this was roid-rage. Reports that I am hearing from sports radio say it was a nasty scene. I bet he has a visit from the Arlington PD later tonight.

It was his right hand, his non-pitching hand.

Great. Just what the Rangers needed in the midst of a terrible losing streak.

could tell the local reporters were pretty shook up about it btw. According to all reports they did not provoke him at all.
From what I watched they didnt either.

WELL.....it was Kenny's fault for losing his cool, but he has been hounded for 2 days because the press was printing crap that Kenny shouldn't be missing a start because of an injury to his non-pitching hand. Basically calling him a wimp. Look at his record this season, not bad for a 40 year old. Guess he had enough...I've been that way a time or two. Fine him, suspend him sure, but kick him out of baseball for attacking a couple of media buttholes forget it.

I can see how he would get mad too.

But he did chose the limelight and the money
that comes with it. He has to expect cameramen.

Two words. Drug Test. That's abnormal behavior, even from a guy that's been pampered by various organizations for the last 20+ years.

You gotta know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, know when to walk away, know when to run.

That was my 1st thought when the news did a tease. Kenny Rodgers the singer attacks reporters. I thought WTH?

"Kenny has had a short fuse dealing with the media," said Hicks. "I've heard stories about what may or may not have happened. He has issues. It's directed at the media and I don't know why."

I had Kenny - aka The Gambler - on my roti team ten years agao (don't worry I outgrew roti baseball and got a life). He has had a long and lucrative career as a just-above-journeyman pitcher, and was actually having a pretty good year for a forty-year-old, with a long scoreless innings streak until recently. All that said, Hicks' words are incredibly weak. His player went after media personnel, several of them. He shoud be gone from the team. John Rocker was hounded from baseball for much, much less (unfairly I might add).

I thought he might be a little bit drunk.
For no good reason really, other than him suddenly deciding
to beat up all the cameramen.
Its something a straight person could probably avoid.

I don't blame him one bit. My fuse at work could go off at any minute with the $hit I have to deal with!

I feel the same way every Monday, thats why I avoid whiskey on the way in to work.

That very reporter was caught smiling and winking at the camera (from the fox sports sw camera) shortly after the incident, before he realized he was injured.

The reporter knows pressing charges will give his story more legs no doubt. He might also be mad about being assaulted for doing his job.

Its a shame some people with talent throw it away like he seems to be.

I wonder if one of the reporters called him girlie hand to set him off.
