What's that old saying?... If I'dve known I'd live this long, I'dve taken better care of myself.
Noted!
Some of us have come the realization (too late) that we too want into this fight. I'm 41 and it has been only since 9/11 that I have educated myself on warfare and the warrior. Now I wish I had not had such distain for the Marshal Arts when I was young. So I do what I can. I thrill to hear that our fighting men and women are going into conflict. I wish them all the luck in the world and hurt when I hear of the deaths and crippling wounds they suffer for me and my wife to live free. I thank every member of the US armed forces when I encounter them. To qoute Shakespeare, I hold my manhood cheap.
God speed warriors! Get some for me too!
Please post, or Freepmail me, the link to the KBR jobs. Thanks for your service.
hey, 41 is not too old...!
Everyone who lived in Jacksonville NC in the late 70's/early 80's knew Marines loved to fight.
[[This may sound sick, but every time I see my Marines in combat in Iraq or Afghanistan, I yearn to be there with them in the thick of the fight, knee deep in gore to quote Warren Zevon. But before you pronounce me a sociopath or psychotic, you should know that the vast majority of Marines long retired feel the very same way. So call us all crazy.]]
Gunny,
I would go back in a heartbeat if I could and fry me some radical islamofacist raghead ass to help save this great nation. It's long past due for Bush to announce in his tv address tonight at 8pm that we have stepped up the campaign and will now vaporize all countries who allow terrorists to cross their borders and enter into Iraq to kill our American brothers. Ooorahhhhhh....get some!

I can't see calling someone who is willing to serve his country a second time knowing full well how hard it was serving the first time was a sociopath.
Exactamente! Riding my scooter nowadays has a whole different meaning than 25 years ago.
BUMP!
Thanks for your service, gunny! Catch you on the air...
This is one post you will NEVER see at DU. Thank God for FR and folks like you.
OOH-RAH, Gunny!
That's similar to the saying, "Youth is wasted on the young."
Age 41 is not too old to volunteer for some military service here at home. Let me know if you want more info.
Beautiful.
Thanks for your service. Always!
Ain't it sad that the Army can't get recruits but the Marines met their May quota.
Well there must be a reason.
PRIDE.
URRRRAAAAAHHHHH SEMPER FI.
POST IT!
