Why, do we not know them without posting them everywhere?

Great idea--it's a new one to me.
On the other hand, I still remember the one for memorizing the cranial nerves:
On Old Olympus' Towering Tops A Finn And German Viewed Some Hops.
Makes no sense, but it helped. ;-D

Yes it was, but the modern day Sabbath is on Sunday. How did that happen? Do you have a reference?

I meant that in today's world most people consider Sunday a day of rest. You know that as well as I do, even if I didn't work it correctly.

Again, today most people consider Sunday the day of rest. It is the day you go to church, it is the day on which you usually don't do much work.

Apparently my attempt at humor was too subtle. I was suggesting "Sodomy in the britches." Britches meaning pants, trousers, pantaloons. Sodomy - britches. Aw, forget it.

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner in aisle 5!
I had that thing drilled in my head during IC A school over 20 years ago - thought I would forget it the moment I got out. WRONG.

I meant that in today's world most people consider Sunday a day of rest. If "most people" jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge, would you follow suit? Most of the Supreme Court justices just ruled that the 10 Commandments could not be displayed in a courthouse. Does that mean you agree with the decision? I'm not trying to be confrontational -- just thought provoking... =)

Oh heck. No, and you know it. But I know of only one church that doesn't have their service on Sunday. They have it on Friday. And, BTW, the example was pitiful. We are not talking here about what is morrally(sp?) right or wrong, we are talking about ways of doing things, in reality it doesn't really matter what day you go to church on.

I rest my case, you cannot find any Scripture. People, not G-d. Tradition, not Scripture.

So, you agree with the Supreme Court's decision? If it is not a question of right and wrong, but only ways of doing things, then the 'Supremes' have a point, don't they?
I always laugh when I read about people all bent out of shape about the 'Ten Commandments' and yet they fashion them to mean things they were NEVER intended to mean. I am sorry, but most of the people whining about this have no right to be upset as long as they only think SOME should be taken literally - and they, or men like them, are the ones who get to decide which ones.
In America, they really are the '5 or 6 suggestions' - they certainly are not the 'Ten Commandments'.
'Original intent' applies to the Bible, more than it does to the US Constitution.

Forget it. I don't know if you are just trying to provoke thought or what. Nowdays people consider Sunday the day of rest. You are going to be hard pressed to find a church that has services on the old testament sabbath. THat is just the way things are. No, i do not agree with the supreme court decision, that is apples and oranges. Not everything in the Bible is to be taken litterally. Do you sacrifice birds after commiting a sin? The actual day that people worhsip God is not important, what is important is people taking a day of work and focus their attention on God, not themselves. The modern day Christian does that, it doesn't make a difference if it is on Sunday or Tuesday, or Saturday, or Friday. People should still honor the sabbath, whenever that might be, they should still not kill etc.

And, BTW, the example was pitiful. Thank you for noticing. Pitiful examples are my specialty.
...in reality it doesn't really matter what day you go to church on.
But, the Commandments do seem rather specific in saying "The seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God." Saturday is #7, and Sunday is #1. On this there is no debate. So we have God as the source on the Sabbath = 7 issue. What source do we have on the "it doesn't really matter which day" concept?

You are going to be hard pressed to find a church that has services on the old testament sabbath. As far as Christian churches are concerned, 2 prominent 7th day churches would include the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the Seventh-day Baptist Church. The Seventh-day Baptists were actually the first Protestant denomination to observe the 7th day Sabbath.
Have you ever heard of the book "Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds"? It doesn't address this specific issue, but it gives an interesting look at how sometimes outrageous ideas and beliefs take popular root.
