The media has characterized Graham's comments as 'quipping'.

In the end Graham proved himself to be more more interested in friends in high places than guiding people to the straight and narrow.

Billie got off his rocker in `99 to defend Willie. Maybe he takes the Bibles teaching to hang with sinners, prostitutes and Pharisees literally. But the last thing we need is more Clinton.
OK, I didn't make this up, it's a line from the movie "A River Runs Through It". "Methodists: Baptists who have learned to read."

Blame the Presbyterians.

He was likely just being overly charitable like a good reverend, but his statement has left me perplexed.

Graham has always been a Democrat, although he has been a friend to all Presidents. If he implied he wants Hillary to run the country, he meant it. Most Christians put politics above faith. That's the reason our country is in the mess we're in.

I have never seen any evidence of Graham being a democrat. Maybe you have some?

Just because you are a democrat doesn't mean you HAVE to vote Democrat. I'm sure there were quite a few Democrats who voted for Bush. He's a Democrat I guess who votes with his head.

Theres a bunch of folks like that.

My friends dad is the prototype of a Zell Miller.

He is a democrat, calls himself a democrat, and hasn't voted for a democrat in over 20 years, and hates the democratic party.

He told me that he just could never bring himself to calling himself a republican or registering republican, but his hatred of most dems is pretty deep.

That said, his favorite democrat is Zell Miller. Before the GOP convention he had never heard of Zell Miller (he doesn't follow politics much), but after the convention he became a die hard follower of Miller.

Did you read the actual quote?

"quipping that the former president should become an evangelist and allow "his wife to run the country"

I don't think he was endorsing Hillary.

I wish there were more of his kind in office, there are plenty of folks like him as voters.

True fact, 2004 was the first time Zell Miller ever voted for a republican in his life.

The one thing that scares me about the dems though, is that in 2008, how many of them are going to run and act like they are Zell Miller democrats.

The biggest problem with this statement is that he thinks Bill Clinton should preach the Gospel. If that lying sack is what Billy G. thinks preachers are he is very highly suspect. Bill Clinton is a liar and a phony, of course so are many preachers so I guess Billy G. puts himself in the same class with Clinton as far honesty and integrity is concerned.

IMO, the Devil, not God had his last way here with Graham.

Billy lost me, when he appeared on Larry King and announced that there were many paths to God. That statement is absolutely at odds with his life long ministry.

I will never again have any admiration for Billy Graham. He said he would like to go to heaven. Well go ahead, Billy. I'd like for you to.

Billy Graham's response to Clinton getting Lewinsky's in the Oval office, sexually harrassing if not assaulting at the very least 3 women was to publicly state that BC was a healthy, virile, attractive and powerful man and it wasn't his fault that women threw themselves at him.....Billy Graham excused Clinton's disgusting behavior by blaming it on the victims - if that is Graham's idea of Christianity and/or a joke I don't want any part of his gospel.

I can't BELIEVE the level of rationalization in this thread.
