 Today as I knelt in prayer, I asked my Holy Father for angels to guide your way, To protect you, to watch over you both night and day. To cover you with His precious love and keep you from all harm, To light your path when the way is dark and when it's cold to keep you warm. For you are an American soldier, defending freedom with your life, Leaving behind a family, children, a husband or a wife. But you are a true patriot, guarding our country no matter the price, A proud American, ready to make the ultimate sacrifice. So if you feel a gentle caress or the brush of velvet wings, You will know that angels hover over you and they were sent by the King of Kings!!  Holy Father We know that you are an awesome and powerful God. We come to you now, Lord, knowing that you are in control and only you can guide and protect us. Lord, we have thousands of young men and women in harm's way now in Iraq and Kuwait, Afghanistan and other places in the mid east. Lord, in the Psalms you tell us that You will command Your angels concerning us to guard us in all our ways. You tell us that they will lift us up in their hands so that we will not strike our foot against a stone. Lord, we pray now that you will send those very angels to protect our troops. To hover over them in battle, to lift them up and keep them safe. How great you are, Lord. We praise you and thank you. We ask that you will continue to strengthen our army and that you will continue to protect them. We also ask for the protection of their families. Strengthen them and encourage them as they support and pray for their loved one in harm's way. Give these families the peace that passeth all understanding. Help each one to feel your awesome presence. Lord, you are the Lord our God. We have a President who loves you and serves you. Give him ears sensitized to hear you and a heart filled with the power of your Word. Protect him and his family. Hear our prayers for him and guide him in every thing that he does. Fill him with your most wonderful Holy Spirit and make yourself conspicuous in him. Use him as your instrument for such a time as this. Bring our country back to you, Lord. Use President Bush to bridge the gap. Hear our prayers, Lord, guide our President and may your hand be upon our soldiers. Bless them indeed, Lord. Enlarge their territory. May your hand be upon them always and may you keep evil from them that they may not cause pain. In Christ's name we pray, AMEN |
