The only two I really remember are "Could I Have This Dance" and "Daydream Believer."

I don't know. After a little searching, I'd say I am wrong.

Looking at IMDB, I see that Soul Asylum had a song called "Can't Even Tell" that was on the Clerks soundtrack.

Soul Asylum two songs on the Chasing Amy soundtrack, called "Lucky One" and "We 3"; and SA's lead singer David Pirner is listed as singing "Tube of Wonderful" (which is also listed on the soundtrack for Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back).

I did see one song called "Stoned" by Silver Chair on the Mall Rats soundtrack- but I doubt that is the song I was thinking of.

All said, I did not see any songs by Candle Box in any of the sound tracks- so what the heck do I know. : )

It's Soul Asylum G32's thinking of. One of their songs was used as the over-the-end-credits theme to Clerks. When the movie took off, a video was made, featuring the Soul Asylum boys going against Randall and Dante in a game of roof hockey.

I'm particularly fond of "Without a Trace" and "Misery".

Runaway Train led to a hilarious running joke on Weird Al's MTV and MuchMusic specials. Instead of missing kids, he substituted pictures of missing rock stars (Milli Vannilli, David Lee Roth, etc.)
