"In China: The Gathering Threat, Menges advocates an immediate end to trade deficits with China to bolster American industry and to aid democratic allies whose economies are also being ravaged in competition with Chinese exports...Menges does not want to fight a war with China, but to promote change in Beijing before the regime thinks it is powerful enough to risk a war...Rapid economic growth under a dictatorship that views the United States as its "main enemy" poses a threat even more potent than the Soviets."
ping!
USA sent it's jobs to China, and this is the thanks that it gets.
Well, they have nuclear-capable missiles pointed at the West Coast. You think maybe it's time we figured out they're a threat?
Another reminder of Bill Clinton's treason. The man needs to arrested, tried in a court of law, convicted and sentenced to death for selling US ballistic missile guidance technology to the enemy for campaign contributions.
I agree wholeheartedly with this cessation of normal trade with China.
Any collectivist society is a threat, even without the missiles. If somehow there were no missiles or other such hardware, it would simply mean that the threat is of a future type.
After all that money I saved buying cheap Chinese crap at Walmart; and this is the thanks I get?
Who was it that said that a capitalist would sell you the rope to hang him with?
load up the B-2's, F-117's & F-22's with some of the "heavy weapons" and lets take care of it.
Israel, who receives $3 billion annually from the U.S. is second only to Russia as a weapons provider to China, U.S. congressional investigators say.
Thanks for the article .
I rarely read posts that long, but that was a great article. Can you try to imagine if we cut off trade with China? I mean... that hits every corner of our market and our pocket books right now. I'm up for it, but I sure bet this is never gonna happen.
Thanks for the article .
It seems I read somewhere we're transitioning from China to India as our low cost goods supplier.
"Who was it that said that a capitalist would sell you the rope to hang him with?"
I'm thinking Kruschev, but that may be wrong. Most Americans just don't understand the terrible implications of running a trade deficit, particularly with a country that doesn't mean us well. Whether it's the Saudis using oil money to fund terrorists and Wahabi mosques in the US, or the Chinese using American trade dollars to fund a military build-up. It would sure be nice to see some of the national leadership start sounding the alarm about the foreign and domestic consequences.
Ming Ping.
Geo-political conditions are shaping up for an interesting, wild...and potentially very dangerous ride.
As long as our CEO's remain the largest contributors to our elected officials and their PAC's, expect more of the same.
