Bush is weak. He hasn't vetoed anything, he hasn't fired enough people, he hasn't gotten in enough faces. Sure, he has been strong at times, but way too much he has gone along to get along. It's weird because when he's been strong he's been very strong. But on illegals, Israel, spending, Africa, foreign aid, PC Army, and much more he has had the round heels.

The main problem with Rice's assessment is that she is assuming that the Mulim people generally dont want to destroy Israel.

I still don't understand why everyone, including Israel, refer to the people as "Palestinians" which is a term related to the former land when it was under British mandate. How odd that the British were also the ones to create a country called Iraq.

Thanks for the reads. They do point out the fact that these territories in the Middle East are easily conquered but a pain in the ass to hang on to. I wouldn't consider it appeasement, we all know that Israel has the ability to take whatever it needs to survive. This is a strategic withdraw back to its original territory, a political plus for Israel which it needs for a well deserved atta-boy from the international community. If the Islamists push too hard or fail to back-off, Israel has the upper hand to push back. Occupation is a tough business, maybe once Israel settles behind a border, attitudes will change, but don't expect terrorism and terrorists to disappear over night. Those who will not stop or accept peace until Israel is destroyed must be eradicated and the international community knows that.
