My outrage towards Durbin was contained in the letter I sent to him the day after he so vigorously chewed on his foot and dishonored our Marines. Since I live in Tennessee, that letter now likely resides in a trash bin somewhere in Chicago or Washington. All I can do is pressure my own Senators to do something. With Bill Frist and Lamar! Alexander as my Senators, both of whom having been advised of my sentiments, I won't hold my breath. Frist is more interested in paving his path to the Whitehouse in '08 by playing nice-nice with the Leftists in the Senate. Alexander is more interested in putting a Federal tax on the internet and not spoiling his view from his vacation property in MA and TN with windmills.

Treason isn't in either's vocabulary.

Given the Senator's overwhelming concern for the detainees, GOP should spread the word that Gitmo will be closed and will be replaced by a new facility to be located in Illinois -- either in downtown Chicago or downstate, which is Durbin's home base. Senators Durbin, Obama, and Governor Blabandbitch can all oversee the humanity or lack thereof in dealing with these detainees.

Well, my Senators are DeWine and Voinovich (neither of which I am particularly proud of at this moment), and I have written them both, as well as Durbin, and will continue to do so.........but I still don't blame the Republicans for what the Democrats do.

No, I should thank you. Your post got me thinking in a different direction. You were right, why should we be calling our Senators and Reps and urging them to stand up for our country and do what's right? Why aren't they on the side of our country? Why do they fear calling a traitor a traitor? How much longer can we allow stuff like this to go virtually unanswered and play nice while the wall crumble?
