I'm watching this on KCAL 9 and I can't believe how disrespectful they are behaving. Isn't this for the college grads? Whoever runs that school should've stopped that crap from going on. I can't believe what I am seeing.

I'd be pissed if I was a parent there for my kid.

The protestors behaviour was out of control.

Channel 9 news reporter Dave Bryan said "Arnold was showered with Boos". They showed footage of audience yelling at him. Several members of the faculty on stage turned their backs while he spoke as did some of the graduates. Two students had "We deserve better" printed on the backs of their shirts.

The faculty also held signs up behind him. One read, "80 million dollars buys a lot of books"....in reference to the cost of a special election.

The reporter said that among the graduates the supporters equaled the protestors. The only footage of the pro Arnold side was a lady holding the sign "Honk if You Love Arnold".

The reprter closed the piece by saying that the only time Arnold acknowledged the protests was in his closing...."I WANT TO THANK THE AUDIENCE FOR THEIR ENTHUSIASM"!!

Classic.

Yes, this was not about their adolescent anger, but a speech for the graduating class from a former graduate who is now governor. You would think they'd show some respect, but they are liberals & thus incapable.

The SM College Republicans were great. They were small in number, but big in spirit. They are celebrating at a nearby bar right now.

You made the AP story.

One of the pro-Schwarzenegger contingent, Ben Eisenberg, said he believed only a small clique of faculty and students on campus objected to the governor's speech. He said he supported the right of Schwarzenegger's opponents to demonstrate, but was disappointed that it was detracting from the college's graduation.

"This should be about the students, this should not be political," the 28-year-old economics major and president of the Santa Monica College Republicans said.

I'm posting this at RonDog's request, and to give a quick update on a successful FReep at SaMo City College -- the gang is still "networking" at the after-party, so photos should follow!

Kudos to RonDog for organizing 20+ FReepers, plus some outstanding SaMo College Republicans who met at the corner of 16th and Pico in support of Governor Ahhnold, and to help counter the cancer from A.N.S.W.E.R. We had tons of media exposure -- all of the local TV stations, radio, and print outlets were there, and many interviewed folks from our side...
