I have an idea. If these lawyers are really serious, then allow illegal aliens to sit for the CF bar exam WITHOUT going to law school. Thus they can be licensed lawyers without the need for paying for ANY school.

Seriously, illegal aliens do not have LEGAL residency. They are no diffent than a foreign non-resident student going to CF for school.

This story is complete and UTTER BS.

"Gavala Gemista" which is Greek for stuffed horse poop.

She feels pressure? She should be hiding under a rock somewhere, just waiting for the INS to pick her up and ship her back. These illegals think they have the run of our country, with nothing to fear! (I hope that changes soon.)

Another point to this story - most illegals do not do well in school. This one is an anomoly and the MSM is using it to play on the sympathies of the taxpayers.

Here's some stats from a school south of Bakersfield in a rural area. (from http://www.khsd.k12.ca.us/arvin/reportcard/2001/new%20sarc%20word_04.htm) 94% of the students are Hispanic, 89% get free or reduced lunches, and 20% are on welfare. The average education level of the parents ends at the 10th grade, the median income is $23K, and most are in agricultural occupations. Ok, that's the background that leads me to believe that this school is probably full of either illegals or the children of illegals.

Here's how they did on the state tests. This is the percent of students that scored at a proficient or higher level on each test in 2004:
Language arts - 12%
Math - 4%
Science - 8%
History/SS - 11%

And the ESL students scored a 1%, 3%, 2%, and 1% respectively on the above tests.

This is more representative of the results of billions of tax dollars at work educating illegals!

Not knowing if you can pay for college or not is something citizens are faced with all the time. So, where's the story?

Load of leftist sympathy crap. If she gets accepted to a school, she can have a Student Visa. Then she can work. Many of US busted our A** to get through school, so we don't want to hear any whiney excuses about why we should pay our tax dollars to give someone else a free ride. Besides, shouldn't US CITIZENS come first?!! How many poor Black kids in inner-cities could use that money, or poor kids in rural areas who don't want to be farmers or on welfare?

Quintero illegally immigrated to Stockton from Sinaloa, Mexico, at age 13.

And she's obviously living in the shadows, cowering in terror that she will be deported...since she revealed her name and illegal status to a NEWSPAPER!

I'm just tired of hearing this sort of whining from illegal immigrants...

You and me both.

Says she'll attend San Joaquin Delta College if she doesn't come up with the money for UC Davis but hopes it doesn't come to that.

Oh, the humanity.

Quintero has been in the process of getting her residency for a year, but it could take at least another six months, she said.

Aguayo said. "She [Quintero] is grateful for whatever she gets."

I disagree. This little whiner needs to shut up, enroll at San Joaquin Delta College, wait until she's a legal resident and then go to UC Davis.

Quintero wants to be an immigration attorney.

Off with her head!

"She gets what she wants"

She deserves a pair of handcuffs and a bus ride back to Mexico.

Let me get this right. She's bitching because she can't pay the IN STATE tuition. It's not enough that she gets a break that an out of state American citizen can't get.

The insanity never stops.

"According to the Texas House Research Organization, not helping students attend college costs states and contributes to an uneducated work force. "

Texas takes extraordinary measures to educate both children and adult immigrants in order for them to be work force ready.

A ready work force plus business friendly laws are why Texas is rated the number one state for business to relocate to and for starting new businesses.

The Texas economy is booming. There were 22 pages in the employment section of yesterday's Houston Chronicle.

The children of rich white Texans are benefiting just as much or more than the children of impoverished immigrants.

It's amazing that the anti-businesses, anti-immigrant states can't figure out why they are tanking so fast.

Well isn't that special she's managed a 4.8 grade point average while leeching off of America and now she is whining about college

Isn't 4.0 the highest grade average a person can get? It was when I was in school but maybe things have changed?

There you go again. Making remarks that can't be backed up about illegals. We don't need illegals, we need legal immigrants. Illegals suck up money that I, and others, have paid in taxes we don't need to be paying. If you want illegals here so bad why don't you personally pay for as many as you can, let them live with you, I would suggest 10 to start, pay for their food, housing and education and then on to college.

I sugget also any of your relatives and friends that feel the same way about illegals to please take in 10 also, this would take a lot of burden off of the american tax payer.

How you can quote obvious lies on every illegal thread is amazing. Keep it up I like the laughs you give me when I read your comments.

Cry me a river.

Kick her and her entire illegal family out. Let them apply lawfully if they want to come here to live.

Just because somebody sneaks into my house successfully doesn't mean they can help themselves to whatever is in my desk or refrigerator and have the keys to my car.

I did get the point.

And students can now get GPA's over 4.0. Many classes count as a 5.0 with an A, and an A+ adds another .3 points. It's the 'new math' public school uses to make GPA's look better. Probably was instated the same time the SATs were 'recentered'.

But I agree that this story is purely for indoctrination into the liberal way of thinking. Glad some of us aren't buying it!

Now you want federal aid for illegal aliens. Geez, if you didnt SAY that you werent, a guy could get the idea that you were pro-illegal immigration. But you do SAY that you are against illegal immigration so to suggest otherwise would just be crazy talk.
