Do you sincerely believe that World War II was won so easily?

Things like this really embolden they fundamentalist muslims overseas who use information like this to claim that Islam is winning.

Please post some examples. We can show them to the Liberals.

IIRC, this sort of thing is shown on Al Jezeera, and it does seem to encourage the bad guys, just as the anti-war protests in the US encouraged the enemies of the US during the 1970s. I believe it was General Giap who said in his memoirs (paraphrased) that they could never have defeated the US on the battlefield, but they were able to defeat the US back at home, using the protestors and the media, and turning the public against the war. And it seems that the media longs for the power of changing US foreign policy again, in supporting the enemies of the US.

WW2 was a war that we fought to win. It seems that despite having the most powerful military that has ever existed, we are in the middle of a PC war. We don't want to offend anyone by going after an enemy that uses mosques as protection even though the enemy has no problem blowing up mosques. Infractions by a few soldiers become blown up as proof that we are a nation of war criminals with our enemies within, the enemy's useful idiots, our own treasonous media, and America haters in general all merrily chiming in to weaken our will to win. Our enemies have an agenda and are cunning and patient. They are also barbaric. We on the the other hand as a nation seem to have the attention span of whatever show such as American Idol is on TV. Our dangerous enemies are somehow morphed into oppressed victims by many apathetic, clueless Americans. I could rant on forever about how a PC war is unwinnable but I believe the reasons are obvious.

or that that many died on 9-11 in a few seconds

What bothers me is these people need to be held accountable:

Ok if you want a pull our (read DEFEAT), what will that mean in to WOT, our abilility to deal with N. Korean , Iran, China. The ythink a withdrawl (read DEFEAT) in Iraq wont have implications, very negative and horrific ones

their thinking is so unidememsional...like Jimmy Carters

Another good point. It's constantly a trip back into the play book without concern for reality.

I would like to see a show on Fox---Ollie North could do it..that goes back to the news archives, newspapers and video news..

Get the news as written during WW11, Vietnam, and now, Iraq...

I think it would be really interesting to see how the media portrayed the 3 different wars...

I speculate that the WWll news was portrayed as being a brave, necessary, and "good" war..

and that Vietnam and now Iraq would have parallel story lines...

Don't you think?

Do the soldiers of Ft Hood know that the current Iraqi Army of 120,000 men are starting to take on the insurgency sweeps in the Baghdad area? Bombings drop from 26 per day to 2 per day. In one more year, the Iraqi Army will double in size and take over more parts of the Sunni triangle. I know it is tough for soldiers trained to fight sweeping and decisive battles where the enemy eventually surrenders and it is over in one month or less like the last Gulf War. Insurgency are tough to fight, but if we are exhausted the enemy who has lesser weapons, resources, technological infrastructure and only regional support at best (which they are slowly losing as innocent Sunnis are dying in the bombings) is even in worser shape. The question now is who will quit first? It is now all a mental game like Vietnam (win the battles but lose the politcial will). During that war, the North Vietmanese came close to an Armistice but they did not based on the anti War images from our MSM. PS - The officers should know better than shoot their mouths off. They should be aware of the strategic situation and the historical lessons of Vietnam.

I mean that the media is pumping negativity into the airwaves- a sure sign that things are going well for Bush. We just had a very successful anti-insurgency campaign in Iraq, the economy is doing very well, and oil prices are dropping.

So what is the media focused on?

Gitmo, Slanted Polls and Disgruntled soldiers.

It only means that we are winning.

President Bush should do a Lincoln and fire this hopeless military leadership from Rumsfeld on down and replace them with leaders who are able to come up with a plan to win this war soon and not cop out about how difficult it is and how long it will take. Patton wouldn't take those excuses.

I'm with you 100%!

snip

I can not emphasize enough that this is not a war we chose willingly. This was a war Saddam Hussein forced on himself. His opportunities to disarm did not begin 4 months ago with President Bush; on the contrary, this struggle has been going on for more than 12 years. The United Nations has repeatedly pleaded with Hussein to disarm, and repeatedly those pleas have been denied. His methods of diversion and deception could only last for so long. Without doubt, the dictator chose to ignore the diplomatic hand that has been offered time and time again. Diplomacy cannot work in the face of a maniacal tyrant like Saddam Hussein.

We are at war. This is the time to put your political affiliations and your personal agenda aside and stand shoulder to shoulder with America in support of your troops. As President Bush has said many times, we are fighting an ongoing war against terror. Saddam Hussein is a danger to his country, his people, and to this world. We have already lost more than 3,000 of our own in the attacks of September 11, 2001. We must be vigilant in preventing another attack of the same or even greater magnitude. As we continue to move forward in the war to remove Hussein, I ask you to not forget the men and women who are fighting for our freedoms. I ask you to not forget the families they have left behind. Most of all, I ask you to never, ever forget September 11th."

I have noticed that lately most of the fighting and suicide bombings have been done to Iraqis, more than American troops..

The news seems to imply that it is insurgents against the Shiites, or Sunnis against Shiites...which go me means that the Iraqis will start fighting more, and having to rely on the Americans less...
