I wonder why they couldn't present this story as it was? After all THEY THEMSELVES liked the true story enough to be moved enough to make a film.
There are an awful lot of people in the film industry who don't seem to know how to tell a tale--or who don't have any faith in the intelligence of the audience.

Not saying Max Baer Sr. wasn't as his son portrays him, but his son was born 2 years after the Braddock fight, so he wasn't really able to see how his father behaved at the time in question.
