According the Kleinschmidt, captured Germans were forced to watch while American soldiers "looked at the book in a menacing manner" and also "threatened it with matches."LOL! This is the best line: "looked at the book in a menancing manner." Oh, no!
I love satire.

EXAMPLE: A group of Germans are trying to levy charges against Britain over the bombing of Dresden. I would suggest they allow the 8th Air Force to deliver it, from 35,000ft. They know the address.

Dean, the ACLU and Dems will stand with this nutcase:Maybe, maybe not. But if the book is 'Das Kapital', 'Communist Manifesto', or 'Quotations of Chairman Mao', definitely.

I always wonder about people who take these things seriously and get all outraged. This one was quite clearly satirical. (And funny, I might add...)
A sense of humor is one of the most valuable weapons we can have.

Kleinschmidt said that Germans soldiers told of a particularly gruesome act that "involved peanut butter and scissors.and Mein Kampf didn't come out of it looking pretty."

"From a literary standpoint, it is a piece of $h!+."
I just heard the other week that Hitler, once he was in power and famous, was embarrassed by the book and wish he had never written it.
A TRUE STORY I read in a book at a doctor's office "Medics at War" or something - with lots of photos and vets telling of their experiences. A medic from WWII told of how when they entered a camp and saw the horror, they rounded up all the guards and shot them on the spot. The MEDICS! (I guess Hawkeye Pierce wasn't there!).
