In the event of a rape, she said that it would fold around the rapists penis and attach itself with microscopic hooks. It is impossible to remove the clamped device without medical intervention.
That'll learn 'em. Yikes.

Gotta love the government. They ban the car flamethrowers to prevent hijackings. Now women can't protect themselves at night.

And of course, there are women who will use it out of pure malice.

And then the rapist would probably kill the woman... Sad to say. Not the best idea.

Who volunteered for testing the device?
Seriously, this will get a lot of women killed. They won't get pregnant, but they will be seriously attacked in revenge.

And of course, there are women who will use it out of pure malice. Dear God,
I thank you that my ex-wife didn't have access to these.
AMEN!

Now there's something to consider. But that could be classified as assault. Especially if the man proves that the woman consented to sex just so he could be injured.
In other words, trust in the person you're having sex with might be a good thing.

The rapist might think twice about ever raping again, but in the meantime, he's going to kill the woman that used this penile iron maiden on him, that's what I think will happen. Not a step forward.

Hell, doesn't sound any worse than the 16 years of occasional sex I had with my ex. What's the big deal?

Head it off at the pass, I always say.

I thought this was an anti-rape device:

What in the name of all thats rational is wrong with those people?!?
A rapist should die in the most physically painful method possible. Not cuddled and coddled because he's just acting out.
Insane...

This device falls into the "seemed like a good idea at the time" category of inventions. Yes, the attacker would be identifiable because he will seek medical help, but would probably kill the victim before doing so.

Charlene Smith, a leading anti-rape campaigner, said: This is a medieval instrument, based on male-hating notions and fundamentally misunderstands the nature of rape and violence against women in this society. It is vengeful, horrible, and disgusting. The woman who invented this needs help. So, if I understand this correctly, a leading anti-rape campaigner is opposed to this device. Sounds like a whining feminist to me.
She is opposed to rape. She is also opposed to using a device that would discourage rape.
