That's what I'm thinking for the Pats as well. Them and the Steelers will probably be the top two seeds again.

For some reason the NFL wanted to showcase Moss. I hope Harrison lines him up for a big one.

Yep, it's a toss up over who's number 1.

I'm not sure people realize how devastated the Pats secondary was last year. It was in horrible shape!!
To: mainepatsfan
lots of fireworks that game. Rams-Colts will have about 80 point scored

I don't think who has the home field matters.
To: Asphalt
Perhaps, But He looked poor towards the end of the season, and they only asked him to put it up 295 times all year.

nope, very similar as far as filed quality and weather. Crowd helps, but both teams can play on the road.

I didn't get to watch it, but I saw the recap, bomb after bomb, at one point two TDs in like 30 seconds of game.

I'm not a big Brees fan and I'm inclined to use the Bobby Beathard strategy and take a gamble to give my team a shot at winning the Super Bowl. Brees looks like a guy who can take you to the AFC championship game or maybe get you into the Super Bowl but he's not likely to win the Super Bowl. Rivers seems to have more long-term potential and is the kind of QB who can win the Big Game. If it was up to me, I would have started Rivers last year even with the contract holdout. I thought it was short-sighted for SD to start Brees and now they're in a situation where they have to make a decision and they don't know enough about Rivers.
I almost hope Brees gets a minor injury to put Rivers on the field and give us a look at what he can do. I really think the right decision for the long run is to keep Rivers and trade Brees, but Brees is filling the stadium and you can bet SD management will trade Rivers instead. I can see one scenario where Brees might win the Super Bowl--the Phil Simms scenario where Brees plays very efficiently like Simms and SD has a dominating defense and strong running game like the Giants had the year Simms won in the Super Bowl. That could happen. But I bet we end up trading Rivers and get a #1, #2, and #3 pick and a huge offensive lineman off somebody's practice squad.

Towards the end of the year I was very confident in the Pats secondary, Gay and Samuel has stepped up big time, I was only concerned when Earthwind was in the games. The secondary will be very good this year IMO.
Mangini did a great job coaching up Samuel and Gay (and Brown).
The Pats O will be loaded this year. IF the team is healthy at all they will DOMINATE. The past 2 years they had to start 42 & 40 different players due to injury, and still won!
