The wearing of a military dress uniform is not a PROTEST!

I repeat. A military uniform is always proper attire for a soldier!

Even when performing surgery?

In this case the proper uniform is cap and gown. Why is that so hard for this Marine to accept?

You have it exactly wrong. It is NOT this young Marine who has the problem. He informed the principal that he would comply with the school regulations without any grab at publicity. It is the politically correct a**holes, the ultralib teachers who try to cover up their intolerance and bias by appealing to "fairness for 'all'" and the "civilian" nature of high school graduation!

What comes next? Giving the evil eye to any man or woman in uniform in any situation? Refusing to serve a man or woman in uniform when they enter a restaurant, etc.? Some of the comments here would sound better on DU than Free Republic!

Kiernan should be more concerned with complying with MCO P1020.34F than worrying about the principal.

Medical Corps physicians perform surgery in military uniforms all the time.

Civilian uniforms should always outrank military uniforms, just as a civilian is in charge of the military. No disrespect to the military, but the military serves the civilians in our system
