"What I felt from 'Cinderella Man' is realizing that getting punched in the head is stupid," What probably happened, is that Crowe tried some of his crap on someone with some REAL boxing experience, and got his a$$ whupped, good and proper..
And was then given a good lecture about "proper behaviour"..
Crowe has now "seen the error of his ways"...

The History Channel had a documentary about Braddock last night. Documentary footage and interviews with boxing afficianados was intercut with footage from Cinderella Man and interviews of Ron Howard (director) and Russell Crowe. It was excellent. Look for a repeat this weekend.

And was then given a good lecture about "proper behaviour".. Very possible. Crowe is a splendid actor and a source of true pride for Australia, but he has acted like a fool in the past. I hope that his marriage has helped him to settle down a bit. Someday people will write popular books about his antics as today they write about the lives of Humphrey Bogart and other great stars, because he will no doubt join the constellation of the biggest stars.

If you want some good laughs, watch the out-takes from "Daredevil", they are a riot. Affleck almost broke into tears when these pigeons kept running into him. I think they had to film that scene twenty or more times before he quit whining and just kept his mouth shut.

LOL! Thanks for the ping. That was a great episode.
I've wanted to see this movie for a while and am so excited that it's finally out.

By the way, thanks for the "ping"... ;o)

Russel Crowe is great, and there are very few excellent actors out there now.
If you haven't already, check out the performances of Hugh Jackman--incredibly talented.

I hope they don't disparage Max Baer. He was a nice guy who just happened to kill two people in the ring. It destroyed him.

I can't imagine two more horrible choices to play a manly-man than those two. Therein lies Russell Crowe's appeal. He is very much a manly man.
