I work for Los Alamos. Are you going to privatize our nuclear football?
To: txdoda
The F-B-I began investigating Malhamdary after a source told immigration officials that Malhamdary had sought help getting false Mexican visas so he could bring Iranians into Mexico.
Looks like this is the only illegal immigration cooperation we'll see from Mexico. They know our open border will finally be nailed shut once a nuke or WOMD goes off. It, of course, will take a 9/11 type of tragedy and the wrath of the American people before the pols will finally do something about our borders.

This is not a sarcastic challenge. I've missed what you have seen that would help me to conclude that. Please help me out.
Thanks.

That one belongs firmly in the hands of government. It's just one aspect of their constitutionally mandated duty to protect the nation. Guarding the border is just as important.

Your estimate of cost for a wall seems naive to me. Also, many illegals would still be able to get in by boat, plane, and through tunels under that highly expensive piece of future marvel.
As for your contention that the government is scanning search terms, so what? It may give them an idea of what ways some fools are looking to plan their next attack on us. It is no violation of your rights for them to monitor search terms on a web site when thousands of commercial institutions do it as well.
No, a wall won't help much, and when it doesn't what will be your answer? Like I said, securing our borders to the point you are expecting is simply impossible. I agree though that their should be an increase in focus on the Mexican-American border.
One last thing, I served my country in two different decades and two different branches of service, don't ever question my patriotism again. Please.
As far as protecting myself, I have a .45 ACP and I know how to use it. Should any foreign element decide to invade and step on my front yard they will die quickly.

Oh, and by the way, it would seem from this story that the Mexican authorities may have helped catch these people. Mexican Authorities ???......I doubt it, more like a patriotic, hispanic American....most I know are also fed up with our "open border invasion".
There's more info in post 13.......it only says a *source* contacted our immigration dept.

Nuclear technology should go back under the Department of Defense.

They'll just hire cheaper illegal aliens to patrol the border.

As I said, the source "MAY" have been from the Mexican government since it is their government that issues their visas.

Do you realize the cost involved in making our borders "closed"? Do you realize the cost of leaving them open?
I hate to be bluntly antagonistic, but your attitude is what has lead to the current problem. Not you, per se, but your attitude shared amongst those in a position to do something about the problem.

Funny they need visas to get into Mexico but just a pair of legs to get into the U.S. from Mexico... Sure is, mexico has imm. laws & they actually enforce them much better than we do.
But once their feet carried these OTM'S across our border, our gov't would then "catch & release" them.........but only after they *promise* to appear for court, several months from now.

So from the article it would seem we have 60 new visitiors who may have very bad intentions for our country. BTW, to all who are still up in arms about border control. I think the DOJ should take every available agent and use them to increase border security, and not have them investigating private citizens for no cause (obviously their was cause in this case).
I mean really. How embarrassed must the DOJ be already when the Minute Men are catching hundreds of illegals a day, and they can't even catch 60 who made it all the way from Iran.

How old is this picture now? 2 years? I wonder if it had anything to do with the FBI investigation? They never did come back to the reporter following this to say whether or not it was significant...

NO WAY "mexican authorities" helped in catching this smuggler.......had they, Vicente Fox would have had his ARROGANT self on world-wide TV breaking the story.

You are not for real? My attitude is that our government should do all it can with the resources available to them to secure our borders. I don't think this is being done. But to believe that our borders can be sealed tight is just a fantasy. There are few borders on earth that could.
A wall? If I were a Mexican I would laugh. I have already built a thousand tunnels.
There are thousands of miles of coastline that can be easily accessed, and many thousands of miles of sea can be traversed with ancient technology. I could easily slip in that way as well.
The shear number of containers that come into this country allows the fact that for every one that is found to harbor illegals trying to enter, there's a hundred more that have succeeded.
I think one of the biggest problems is not MY ATTITUDE but too many people who already live here that are making a living smuggling humans in. MY ATTITUDE is that these people need to be caught, prosecuted, kicked out (whether or not they are citizens) and never allowed to reenter this country.
You can do everything you can conceive of and still not stem the tide of illegals. Unless you want to start reporting every instance you suspect of illegals. The lawn guy, the guy at the restaurant you go to. The woman cleaning houses, the girls who live down the street but don't go to school because they are working all day in a sweat shop.
These are the reasons illegals get here and stay here so easily, not MY ATTITUDE, or the lack of effort by the government. Again, the government can do more. But for the reasons I have expressed is the real reasons we have a problem with illegal immigration.
