A Wilson County jail trusty who escaped in a shortbed pickup from the facility's maintenance shop was caught without incident in Kerrville on Tuesday night.

A tipster called the Wilson County Sheriff's Department around 8 p.m. Tuesday, telling authorities he'd spotted the truck parked in front of a house in Kerrville, Tackitt said.

Deputies told him to call the Kerrville Police Department, who soon arrested Bonar at the house.

Wilson County sheriff's officials planned to transfer Bonar back from Kerr County early today, he said.

The sheriff was unsure of Bonar's relationship to the people in the home, and investigations will continue into his escape.

Bonar now could face charges for escape and for unauthorized use of motor vehicles, Tackitt said.

A few years ago, a couple of Houston teenagers fled the Texas prison where they were incarcerated when they only had a few months to go.

When captured, and facing at least 5 more years, they said,"They were homesick."

Not revealed in the newspaper was their IQ range.

"Not revealed in the newspaper was their IQ range."

Probably not high enough to be eligible for execution.

Nope, this guy was headed to Huntsville to prison for 6 years..

There are several privately owned prisons operating in Texas. I live less than a mile from one.

He was probably going to a low security facility. When he is captured, he will probably go to a high security, state run hellhole now.
