Before you dismiss them as nuts, keep in mind that such renewal is for the most part built into America, and always has been. Nothing wrong with getting rid of the decrepit and putting up new ones.

I wonder what criteria they will use? Myself, I admire the older, Victorian houses when I go around and see old homes, Queen Anne style is my favorite but I like most houses from that era.
This is utter stupidity and rediculous. I suggest they start with Buckingham Palace and the others, I'm sure they take a lot of energy to run the heat and A/C.

So where are the people to go? Lol, you're not understanding the article, as I guess many here aren't. The article isn't calling for the number of houses to be cut. It's calling for what we call in the states, urban renewal. It's calling for 3 million aging, decrepit, and inefficient houses to be torn down, so they can be rebuilt.

Lickety split and Hillary in the same sentence, is enough to turn the most amorous man into a eunich.

Here one of my vintage cats:
Pansy: 1987 -
She will turn 18 in August, except for some allergies, the vet says she is very healthy. She is small, a little over 5 pounds so people think she is only 1 or 2. She's very active, plays and runs around a lot, loves to holler at 3 AM though. B-)

This isn't scrappleface, these dudes are series? I'm stuned, completely stuned. I would like the popcorn concession when the Kyoto-ites meet up with the historic preservationists. It is a good thing nobody has guns over there. Hmmm, perhaps that has something to do with the story?

I need to get a new calender, my global warming and global cooling days are all screwed up since the last prediction came out. I need one that says we are doomed every day of the year.

Well, I, for one, would rather see kitties running amok than liberals running amok.

Why not just arrange the demise of about 70% of the world's population..

First the homes next the people. It's getting closer and closer.
The damage people cause to the planet is a function of demographics - it is equal to the degree of development. One American burdens the earth much more than twenty Bangladeshes ... This is a terrible thing to say. In order to stabilize world population, we must eliminate 350,000 people per day. It is a horrible thing to say, but it's just as bad not to say it. -- Jacques Cousteau

Some 3.2 million homes must be demolished over the next 45 years to fulfil the Government's aspirations for tackling global warming, academics have warned. Academics? Are these scientists? Researchers? Or is this just the typical list of activist blow hards who think a sliver of data is absolute truth?
To: blam
So, in American that translates to Streisand, Gates, Lucas, etc., right?

No more insane than paying for a LICENSE to watch your own tv. Whoever thinks we should be more like Europeans are the least intelligent of us all.
