The Manchurian Candidate strikes again.
Someone tell him he isn't in charge yet..... and hide the Queen of Diamonds card.

Why the hell do we keep giving in. Every time we give a little these pinko libs want more. This is ridiculous already. Mccain is to high on his own hype to realize the damage he is doing. There is absolutely no need for this.
To: NormsRevenge
Frist needs to get control the Senate back or step aside and let someone who knows how to be a leader. Why they picked this guy in the first place is beyond me and now he is a lame duck who answers to no one.

will that change their votes? no.

Another accord, John?
The play for the Presidency is getting a little too obvious. I'm not buying it.

This is out of the Dems' and McQueeg's and even the president's hands! The head of HOMELAND SECURITY has denied the papers being demanded. There is NOTHING McLame can do about this. He can't make a deal and deliver the papers. They're TOP SECRET!
To: Pikamax
I wish McCain were as forceful with his support for Bolton as he is about Republicans who "misbehave" in his eyes. He always seems to be going to bat for the Dims when some Republican says something critical. Yet when Republicans are called Nazis and such, he does that silly closed-mouth laughing of his and says it's all just rough and tumble politics.
McCain supports Bolton, but he's not DOING anything about it. Why doesn't he stand up and say "Look, I brokered an agreement, now let's see my Democratic friends step up and support this fine choice" instead of this BS about files no one cares about.
Maybe I'm cynical, but I am imagining a "compromise" in which a somber McCain holds that little microphone in the Senate and "regrettably" asks for the President to withdraw the Bolton nomination?
How about doing SOMETHING for YOUR party, John?

His Presidency is DOA. He is better off running for another term.

How about doing SOMETHING for YOUR party, John? Er..ah..he is doing something for his party.

Reach down and grab ahold:
Senate Democrats,
We either send Bolton up to reform the UN, or we abandon it entirely.
The corruption of the UN is systemic and must be addressed.
Reform or Abandon. Your call.
Sincerely
A Republican with Spine

He really believe this filibuster is about the documents the Dems want? They've pulled the same stunt two or three times to delay.
He's a slow learner.

His primary hopes (
YOU HAVE TO WIN THE PRESIDENCIAL PRIMARY, BEFORE YOU CAN EVEN RUN AGAINST THE DEM! )were toast before this and I'm pretty sure he knew that.
Why do you always "jump the gun" ?
To: Fenris6
Well stated and succinct.
John Bolton could use an assistant like you.

The conversation ought to include:
Your comittee chaimanship is gone.
No more pork for Arizona.
We're going to tell everbody about the above.
No funding for your next campaigns.
We will actively fund your next opponent.
Etc.

So, now, having taken over chairmanship of the judiciary committee, John McCain is taking over chairmanship of the Foreign Relations committee.
Maybe we should email those committee chairmen and ask them to TAKE BACK THEIR COMMITTEES.
To: econ_grad
"I can't believe that Frist is running for President." No kidding. He's as wimpy as the cheer-leader Trent Lott.
