Ha! She is an embarrassment to intelligent, self respecting women everywhere.

She's a bitter sourpuss, who obviously hasn't experienced
what a real man can bring her. What self-respecting man
would want to be with her, anyway?

"Not as long as she can afford batteries."

ROTFL! Look at it this way; some women don't have much choice but to seek alternatives.

I don't think Maureen's outfit matches in those photos. I hope she wasn't trying to go for a "designer" look. It failed.

+Yep, only one exception -- a disappointment, but nothing of any great magnitude.

Let me help your void...lol. Try shopping at the Home Deport during the week, preferably the mornings when the contractors shop. Always pay attention to the men shopping ALONE in the grocery store, (unless they sashay).

I've never had any trouble finding men. They're all around. Just paste a smile on your face and stand tall. They'll notice and they'll find you. When you see one you want, then just let him catch you.

Ha! I'm not even sure you need the self-respecting part in there! The only difference is a self-respecting man wouldn't be scared of her.

Hmmmm. Good advice. Googling 'Home Depot' store locator now... (tried the grocery store, it's very rural here, not much luck, although a few married men have 'offered'. blech)

Only one exception is amazing. The smaller the magnitude the better, in cases like that.

LOL! You're Googling the nearest Home Depot! LOL!

I'm telling you, Home Depot's are full of men in the early, weekday hours, and they always willing and offering to "help" find an item and then to tell you all about installing it, etc. Were I single, I could have a date every nite for a month of Sunday's just from the men I've met at a rather small HD in Mississippi....lol.

If you can't find a HD near you, I would imagine plumbing parts stores and lumber yards might offer some good findings too.

Yes, I am! (pouty face) I really don't know where the nearest one is. Hmmm. Men. Mississippi. So there are a lot of single men there?... Seriously, the nearest HD to me is a bit of a drive, but so is just about everything. I will consider these other great suggestions, too.

Maureen Dowd Writes a New Book, ARE MEN NECESSARY? .......

Without American men, where would American women be?

Where would any of Western Civilization's women be for that matter?

Wherever they might be, they would not be allowed to whine about it.

Yeah, from what little I've seen, Mississippi is full of men. Don't know the age you're looking for, but the four times I've been my parish Church, there's been more men there than women, which now, that I think about it, strikes me as odd. The GOOD kind of odd.

Still, the Home Depot's or building supply stores are the richest target areas I've ever seen. I can always tell the single ones from the married ones too: no pot bellies!

There ya go, cookie. Lowe's is just as good. Tell her it's worth a trip or three, but make sure she's on a search for an unusual part or something that's difficult to install. Believe me, the men love to explain, help and even volunteer their services. (NOT "those" services...lol..).

Dowd was on the right. Several years ago Rush even used her articles. She went moderate when dating Michael Douglas. After the break up, her prose turned into the normal bitter leftist drivel. Many here theorize her hard left turn was just to get Michael back.

MAD TV once had a hilarious parody of the show "Felicity". Nicole Sullivan played "Intensity", a girl so obsessed with "Ben" that she stalked him. At the end of the sketch she's walking around town in a straight jacket and has a sign around her neck " Have you Seen Ben?"
I picture Dowd that way some day, sign reads "Bush Sucks. Have You Seen Michael?"

DON'T YOU DARE MISS THIS cookie and petronski.

I need to get some sleep, but I went ahead and Googled "where to meet men" and I am laughing so hard right now I have tears streaming down my face.

My advice about Home Depot is right on!
It's listed #4 right here: http://love.ivillage.com/snd/meetmarket/0,,doyenne_s63n,00.html

The writer even offers you more ideas within the confines of Home Depot: "there's do it yourself classes" although I tend to think you might get some doofuses and married wimps in those. A real man will already know how to install stuff, build stuff and paint. Besides, I doubt you're looking for the "decorator" type...lol.

Seems like Home Depot is becoming a real meet/meat market....lol. Go for it girl, and Lowe's has to be about the same. If not, come visit me and I'll plant you in my little town's HD! Trust me on this, my HD is target rich, and in the afternoons and evenings as well.

Well, I will look into that, check it out. LOL, the decorator type makes a good friend for a girl, but... I'm blushing, you googled 'where to meet men'? LOL.
