the way he treated Miguel Estrada, he is arguably worse than the Democrats in the Senate. Anything to support that statement?
To: Bob Ireland
Republicans are, after all, The Stupid Party. Whenever I get real mad at them I try to remind myself of that fact.

At one time this was a website where very spirited discussions took place and where walking in lockstep was not required and intellectual midgets would not threaten to zot anyone who did not spout the party line. Bush is a disappointment, if you can deny that with a straight face you may be living in a fantasy world.
That was not the starting point of this spirited discussion.
The initial salvo was that Bush is the worst president in history and it is now impossible to be a Republican.
If youre going to chastise the over-the-top responses, you should not minimize the ridiculously over-the-top premise they were responding to.

I have done my share of criticizing Bush, specially on immigration, spending and the "religion of peace" bit, so lockstep has never been an issue with me.
"Worst in History", however, just shoots down any and all credibility with me.

I get the feeling that the only reason you're still here after posting this emotionally-driven yet factually-flawed opus is because you're a 1997 freeper.
A 2005 newbie would have been zotted by now.

Good rant, Bob.
I may not agree with every jot and tittle, but I share your disgust with the way our leaders are squandering the hard-earned political capital we've entrusted them with.

While my level of disappointment has not risen to the same level as yours, your points are well taken and understandable given the anti-climactic way all this occured at the last minute and then scumbag-Reid's taunting, in-yo-face, comments afterwards.

Jesus Bob, is it ever good to know you're still around fighting the good fight.
You've always called it like it is and you haven't changed in that respect, thank God for that.
As for Gonzo?
Haven't seem him around for quite some time, truth be known.
Then again reading some of the inane crap being said to you I could guess why he doesn't come around, anymore.
The place has morphed into a "Barrytown" if ever there were.
Don't drop that right, y'hear!

Bush never agreed to such nonsense and never will.
Those moderate dingbats in the Senate have as much power to force this nonsense on the executive branch of government as you and I do.
Just because you read it in a newspaper doesnt mean its true.

The problem you have is you do not engage in hero worship and blind approval as do so many on here especially those who are the first to scream for a zot. Not a one of them can refute anything you stated. All they can do is ridicule. The equivalent of the "R" word the lefties use so often. Just today Bush made the claim that adding the full two thousand authorized border patrol agents would be too much of a strain on the border patrol. What kind of bizarre thinking is that? What the hell is going on? We have guys dying to secure the Syrian/Iraq border but we don't give a damn about ours?

Bob,
You have two choices: Democrat or Republican. Pick a side or it will be picked for you.
