Well there's definitely something wrong with me then. And for the guys out there saying they need porn because the wife isn't interested. That can be a two way street. Why do you think all those soft porn romance novels are such big sellers? Why do you think Desperate Housewives and Sex in the City are so popular? Because of the men? And guess what? Women do watch and read other porn too.

What does this have to do with a woman's psychological need to actually engage in sexual intercourse? I'm not talking about thinking about sex, or fantasizing about sex, or looking at porn. I'm talking about having sex. As I stated previously on this thread, a woman's psychological need to have sex is not as strong as a man's psychological need to have sex. Because of this, many men get frustrated because their wives or girlfriends don't want to have sex as often as they do.

Any thread on porn draws the perverts who defend it, and it is almost impossible to have an interliigent discussion on porn on FR for the addicts that quickly show up, flapping their leathern wings, to make snide, clever remarks, deride, make fun, indulge in circular arguments and in general force people who want to have an intelligent discussion on the matter to deal with them. it is not that we who disagree with you on this are simple-minded, it is that your point is itself too simple-minded for us to bother refuting over and over again.

You keep claiming that failure to show porn to children indicates in some way that we recognize that porn is unwholesome.

Not so.

As I said in an earlier post: I would not allow a kid of mine to skydive until he or she was mature enough to handle the activity. This in no way indicates that I am ashamed of having jumped out of airplanes or that I am ashamed to have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
(Nor, for that matter, does this experience or my enjoyment of it indicate that I am "addicted" to it.)

Skydiving is serious adult fun, not to be meddled with or dabbled in by those unready for it... and a kid ain't ready for it.

Similarly, though I have trained seven-year-olds in the proper care and use of a Ruger 10-22 .22cal.lr, I have not and will not teach one so young to handle a 3"magnum 12ga shotgun or a bullpup AK47 - the kid ain't ready for it.

"The kid isn't mature enough for it" does not equate to "it is unwholesome because I will not get a kid involved in it."

If at this point you cannot see the error in the argument you have been presenting, there is no hope anyone will ever make it clearer to you.

I've been reading through some of the posts and this argument is so nuts, I don't think I'm even gonna get into it. I will say one thing: if you think porn is ok, then you must think it's ok if your son or daughter wants to work in that industry. If it's not ok, you're a hypocrite.

Hey. Don't let it get to you. The average age of a conservative on this site must be 50+.

I'm a 26 year old conservative and am actually in touch with people under 40. Things have changed a lot since my parents generation, especially in the bedroom. I'll bet many of these people don't know anything other than 'missionary'.
