I think his time would be better spent having that toupee or whatever that thing is on his head reweaved.

I know it would take a lot longer, but wouldn't it make more sense if he read the names of all the Al Qaeda killed during the same time period? After all, those are the soldiers of his friends!

Sometimes I wish for WW2-style censorship.

Of course it is done to advocate Nightline's agenda. Nevertheless, I would like to voice a dissenting opinion.

One of the more gripping books I ever read was Eugene Sledge's "With the Old Breed at Peleliu and Okinawa." Despite having read a lot of war history, the book most eloquently expressed the horrors that many servicemembers are faced with in war.

I supported and still support the effort in Iraq, but as a civilian I think it is healthy to be reminded of the cost of our freedom and prosperity.

I thank all of you who have given military service to our nation.

I do wonder how the families feel about this...we all rightly distrust the "ratings mavens" and politicos who run Nightline and much of the MSM, but OTOH, it seems fitting to recognize the soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice, and particularly on Memorial Day...

I might think this is not so different than reading all the names each year at memorial services for the anniversaries of OK City or 9/11...except it's a "judgement call" when it's the armed forces, whether they are sincerely honoring the fallen soldiers or trying to make a point either way about the "legitimacy" of their mission.

Hard to say, but I can imagine some soldiers' families watching and videotaping this as a "special remembrance" of their loved one, despite it's Ted Koppel and Nightline...and the DU'ers and their compatriots can do whatever they want to about it, as they are soul-less and bitter people who haven't had much success promoting their agenda and world-view lately. JMHO!

Of course they could honor our fallen servicemen by reporting the unbiased truth about the all the good work our men and women are doing overseas to secure and promote democracy and freedom.

Don't watch the program. After he has read the servicemen's names, he needs to read the 911 list of victims for reminder of why our soldiers are in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Too bad ABC's is too busy with their anti-war propaganda or they would also read our citizen's names who were killed in 9/11 to remind our countrymen why it is so important to fight this war. Thanks to Ted, he only serves as a reminder that we're not only fighting a war on terror abroad, but one in the press!

I'm sorry, but I don't understand what is wrong with reading the names of the young men and women who sacrificed their lives for their country on Memorial Day.

Why not name the vicims of 911 or the Cole or Waco or any other
disaster caused by the leftwing democRATs?

What is this nitwit's email address? Koppel need to get his head
on straight and to stop playing to the anti-Americans and leftist trash.

Is Ted Krappel still alive? A pompous man of the people-not an easy mix.
