Lanny Davis is blowin smoke. President Bush knows what path he intends to take with regard to judicial nominees coming down the pike and my guess is he will not be consulting about it first. We suffered no loss here other than delay to fight another day. All options are on the table according to Frist's statement.

Just received this email from writer JB Williams:

"Senators Said to Reach Filibuster Deal

I must say, I am getting sick and tired of Mr. Johnny "on the spot" McCain negotiating away the will of the majority in the name of compromise with the worst bunch of back-stabbing leftist ever to reside in Washington.

McCain is no more a conservative than I am a brain surgeon. The American people went to the polls to give real conservative the power to get things done and Johnny on the spot just doesn't have the nerve to anger his friends on the left.

The bad news is, this deal is no deal at all. The worse news is, the media will once again use McCain to black the eye of the Bush administration over this bogus "deal".

No wonder the world thinks we have become the land of the free-ride and home of the gutless."

I agree. To be consistent, the RINO's must not vote for a filibusterable nominee, that would make the nominee not extreme to them. If they do not vote for such a nominee, there is no need to filibuster since the nominee would not receive enough votes to win confirmation.

Lanny Davis claimed that this "compromise" save the nation from the wing nuts of both parties and brought the country back to the "center".

This is how to nullify the last election, make certain that the president's second term is one where absolutely NOTHING he wants gets done, including getting ANY judicial nomination through, and polishing HITLERY's image as a "CENTRIST", up and running.

If that crap you posted "sounds right", you're deaf as a door post.

Un.

Effing.

Believable.

There is NO hope for the Republican Party.

As far as I'm concerned, I really do not care who wins any more.

What most people don't appreciate is that the Democrap's current tactics are really designed to split the Republican base. They didn't expect to win this fight. What they're banking on is winning in 06. Given the Republican sell-out tonight, I say that's fine. I've voted a straight Republican ticket for 30 years. In 06, I will simply overlook my Republican senatorial candidate. The Democraps run the Senate anyway. Let the RNC know you're pissed: membership@rnchq.org

"...I don't know why the Republicans caved in to these Rats."

Because too many Republicans want exactly the same things the Democrats do only they have to lie to get elected, and these 7 RINOS are just the tip of the ice berg. We could elect 85 Republicans in '06 and have the same problem (not having 51 votes to change the rules.)

McCain will pay for this, he will become a hugh target for talk radio. This was too big of an issue, now the spotlight is on him as the spoiler. Looks like the MSM + Dems are his only friends.

The dems will hold out for the next Congress in the hope of picking up seats.

How? This would be a vacancy in the highest court of the land. There is no justification for delay.

This just may turn the Senate over in 06.

Unless I see some amazing text in the next few hundred posts, I sure ain't voting.

Why bother?

We cannot win until all 7 RINO traitors are put out of the Senate.

Yes, they're unnecessary.
We did win our right to vote on judges just like we wanted, though - and we still keep the right to the Constitutional option open if we need it later! The democrats have to back down. They have to just sit down and shut up. I like it!

Oh no, I never stay home. I spend every day of every year discussing with friends, family, and co-workers the absolute uselessness of the Republican party as a conservative vehicle. Then I go to the booth on Election day and as a citizen of the state of North Carolina cast a vote for who I feel actually is the conservative candidate, which in most cases is the third party.

The 14 think they're powerful as all get out, but they'll get slapped back into reality when the other 86 wake up and see that they've been usurped.

I wouldn't doubt it....Perot Part III....Hitlery in the WH.

Hitlery would then reward him by appointing him to the Supreme court. He could fill Reinquist's seat which by that time would have been vacant for the final 3 years of Bush's lame duck presidency.

Its my personal mission that 6 of these 6 RHINOS loose re-election.

Even if that means a Dem wins (will actualy look for a REAL republican, but if it siphons votes away and doesn't work out... its still WELL WORTH IT)

I know I may sound grumpy, but a lot of us have seen this time and time again. That's why we are livid. It's like Lucy pulling the ball from Charlie Brown...or like rooting for the KC Chiefs....hehe....no matter what, you know they'll find a way to lose the way

I could list about a dozen sellouts and weak-kneed actions over the last decade, and while i still prefer a Republican congress to a dem, I'm not so sure either party really represents the conservatives when push comes to shove..today being a perfect example......
