Global warming is real. Our whole solar system is heating as our planet travels through outer space. (Some of the planets are 1,500 times hotter than they were 30 years ago). Global warming is caused by external forces such as the sun's magnetic cycles, solar flairs, geomagnetic storms and space weather. Space weather includes powerful magnetic forces causing the earth's magma to heat up and expand seeking release through earthquakes and volcanoes. There are hundreds of under water volcanoes erupting causing the world oceans to warm.

Now global warming has triggered global cooling forces as the earth seeks balance. The Gulf Stream has slowed causing dramatic cooling trends for England and Europe. This means Europe will be getting cooler as the rest of the world is heating up. Which means very nasty weather is coming with snow storms in June. Violent weather is ahead for the North Atlantic Ocean and more frequent hurricanes will batter the U.S.

Indeed, global warming is so insidious that we may very well not notice its effects for hundreds of years. And when that time comes its impact will be subtle, barely noticeable at first, then virtually undetectable for several more generations. But by then it will be too late to do anything about the dramatic temperature shifts from the winter to summer months.

It is a commonly held supposition. Global cooling caused massive crop yield reductions, leading to a hungry and weak population ripe for an epidemic.

I've seen more specific theories dealing with the specifics of plague transmission and temperature, but they haven't really convinced me.

Certainly the fact that the earlier major outbreak of plague in Europe seems to have coincided with an earlier period of global cooling (Krakatoa's 535 eruption) strongly suggests there is a link.

Though I still don't understand then why 25 degrees celcius would be such a bottleneck as even in the Mediterrian world (where most of Europe's urban population was in 540 and 1347) still gets below that temperature on a regular basis.
