Laura Ingraham has a sharp wit...but she is always, always a lady.
God bless you Laura! I'm sure you know that many here at FR are praying for you. There are even ladies who work at WABC radio who go to a weekly rosary just to pray for Laura's health. God bless them too.

Prayers up for Laura.
I saw on a thread a while back that her engagement was off? Did we ever get to the bottom of that?

She has a nice show, but I wonder why she skipped the big story about Pepsi that exploded yesterday.
To: shhrubbery!
Did I hear her mention there was no wedding in her future???

She made brief mention of it yesterday in an offhand comment....something like "Oh no! First cancer, then no fiance...." I myself was wondering what had happened or if it just meant he was out of town or something.
To: shhrubbery!
I wish her luck and pray everything turns out fine. I like Laura Ingraham!

Yes, there are a couple of earlier threads about that. She has incredible energy and good cheer on air for someone having to go through such a terrible time. Don't know how she does it -- I don't think I could! Maybe our prayers are helping.

to forgo hormone therapySome tumors are hormone receptive, which means that if given hormone treatment IF the cancer came back it would grow rapidly & could be more agressive.

She announced a couple of weeks ago that the wedding was called off, not sure if is was a mutual decision or not.

BRAC1 or BRAC2?Sorry, I don't have the slightest idea. She did mention that she'd picked up a lot of the lingo having to do with breast cancer, but I didn't hear her say anything that sounded like that. Might've missed it.

Wow, first Tony Snow and now Laura Ingraham...prayers for both!

Don't know, but I for one don't care about the Pepsi story. I'd rather hear Laura rip into the Blimp from Massachusetts and McHagarrrrrr over the filibuster fight, than hear about coarse jokes told by women trying to be hip.

Thanks. I wasn't clear about whether the choice was to have one therapy OR the other, or to whether they had to be mutually exclusive. I guess if you choose to have chemo you wouldn't do the hormone therapy, then?

Laura is a Top Notch Lady. I wish her well.
The treatment-options available the last couple decades have saved many, many lives.
Bless ya, Laura , you'll be just fine.

I guess if you choose to have chemo you wouldn't do the hormone therapy, then?Good question. People do have both, by of course it all depends on the type of cancer, etc. etc.

Then again, I was glad to see her take on the large Calvin College faculty group demanding that President Bush not be invited to speak at Calvin's graduation because of his supposedly deficient Christianity.

Well I'm sorry to hear that. The last time I heard her she said something like "if he thinks he's getting out of this because I've got cancer he has another think coming". She sounded so up. I guess she's better off without him if he can't stand by her now.

Here are some interesting factoids: the incidence of breast cancer has increased to approx. one in eight women in the USA (one every three minutes gets a diagnosis). And, while cancer is always linked to a genetic dysfunction, only 5%-10% of breast cancers are genetically inherited.
