As a matter of fact we can ignore federal rulings we don't like. Judges are not the sum total of law in the US, the constitution is. The 1st amendment gives us freedom of religion and speech, both of which were exercise by the school prayers. No where in the constitution does it say anything about "seperation of church and state" it only says the government can't establish a state religion. Praying in a school is not establishing a state religion.
The constitution gives us the right to ignore laws that are unconstitutional, the founding fathers would be turning over in their grave to see people of YOUR ilk trying to control the country.
Since the First Amendment states:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech,..."
the "Federal Judge" in this case has violated the Federal Constitution by prohibiting prayers: the free exercise of religion.
It follows that the rulings of that "Federal Judge" are unenforceable.
Moreover,
If we still had a Congressional Anti-American Activity Committee, the ACLU woul dbe on their short list.
Something has to be done to combat this group. Some organization has to step up to the plate and fight them on these issues.
Where are the Christian support groups, the Christian churches?
Do you have a more precise source for your tag line?
It's called Freedom of Religion and Freedom of Speech newbie.
Deal with it.
Exactly. Nightly news footage of the little old teacher in handcuffs being led away from school by cops would cause an uproar against these goons.
Did I just read this one right?
Are the ACLU talking about opposing rights we have been granted by the consititution, and by GOD?
And is it true (preachers?) that in spite of
all this, that some churches STILL allow for compromise when it comes to evolution,
abortion, and other important issues?
Look, I have an idea... Why not petition the
government to send the ACLU and THEIR
supporters to some other country where they do not tolerate expressions of religion.
Because they SURE enough DO NOT desire the
America I hear that our soldiers apparently
fought and died for.
Why not pack the bastards' bags and get them
the HECK out of here.
Or at least, why don't we try to find a way to
stand together?
You want to talk about a "Purpose Driven Life"-
Preacher men? I think THIS is IT!
Love you all.
Jeremy Witte
It reads freedom of!!!!!!!!!!!!!
not freedom from.
Sorry I thought that was from you. I need to read more carefully.
Good point...
Thank you for your first-hand perspective. Hopefully your school will stand up to this ACLU nonsense.
