Lukasz: Whole Russian system is socialist, comparing to the other post-communist countries in Central Europe, Russians made very little reforms. Pure lies, typical of our EU enabler "friend".
They implimented a 13% flat income tax. Killed the sales tax. Cut VAT by 1/3rd and payroll by 1/2. Corp tax is 24% and 14% for IT. There is limited gun ownership and 20% of Russian land has been sold to the private market. Trial by jury. There is Christian education in the schools and the military. They've also cut down on government. Implimented protectionist tariffs that have brought in 6 automotive manufacturing plants in 5 years. Abortions are also illegal after 12 weeks and the Church and conservatives are pushing for a full ban.
By these, Mr. Lukazs means there are no reforms?

Who is the current world chess champion. Isn't he still considered the greatest active player, and perhaps on of if not the greatest all time player. I respect him beating the IBM computer the first time.
To: Jack Black
I'm not sure, but I've noticed that most of the chess champs seem to be kooks. Superiority complexes?

I'm not sure, but I've noticed that most of the chess champs seem to be kooks. Superiority complexes? The chess is an individual sport, such feeling is very helpful here. But I think Mr. Kasparov is a poor manager and know little how to deal with people. That may prevent him from being a successful politician.
To: jb6
The problem with this guy is he 1. never states his platform in any concrete fashion and only screams Putin is Hitler, Stalin, Caligula, etc. and 2. Does nothing to sell his ideas in Russia but does a lot in going outside of Russia, bashing Russians and Russia. Of course, Russians take note of this and then refuse to support him. Exactly. Moreover his articles are accuratly translated and published by "inosmi".

Bobby Fisher IMHO was the all time best chess champ, and he clearly was a kook.

Yes and that is why they are far behind of post-communist Central European states. You cannot face with reality, they are not even a real democracy. This report showing Putin in different light to your claims, all his achievements are there. I suggest you to read that report, you will change your opinion about him.
Putin after re-election
There is limited gun ownership
I through that most of Americans are pro-gun. Im surprised that you pointed out this fact.
There is Christian education in the schools and the military.
Russia is mostly Christian country, then this is absolutely normal.
They've also cut down on government.
Their own government.

There is limited gun ownership Taking it out of context is your specialty. You seem to forget to mention that earlier there was no gun ownership, now there is. Keep trying, you'll earn your paycheck today.

Well I've got news for you, there isn't any in most American schools. Banned under seperation of Church and State where the socialist agenda of atheism is pushed. Most schools here do not tolerate prayer in school and the Boy Scouts have been repeatedly denied meeting space because they won't accept queers.

Yes, that's a conservative point: cutting down the size of government. Something the EU can not comprehend.

What do you think about the centralization of power in the Kremlin and gradual winding down of opposition press?

Well the centralization is a natural reaction to Yeltsin's extreme decentralization. Yeltsin told the various governors to grab as much power as they could and they did, creating little fiefdoms and kingdoms. Imagine Clinton running Arkansa as his personal domain, setting up tariff booths on the borders, etc.
As for the media, etc, read the interview with 60 Minutes, a real eye openner: here
