I have no idea! I used to kinda care what happened to Red, but not so much any more. As far as I can see, all the family enterprises in the timber industry are washed up now anyway. The damage has already been done by all the "BORN AGAIN PAGANS."

Why don't you ask Sam Aanastad what the hell he thinks this stupid CONservancy will ever do to help the Sierran economic condition??? It's CA's biggest monument to fiscal and economic stupidity! Even superceding the suspension of the building of Auburn Reservoir on the North Fork of the American River in 1977. That has held the title of CA's biggest monument to stupidity up to now!!!

Staffers said the agency will look to enhance watersheds, wetlands, wildlife habitat and thin forests to protect the ecology...........

Ecology: The science of the relationships between organisms and their environments. Also called bionomics. The relationship between organisms and their environment. 2. The branch of sociology that is concerned with studying the relationships between human groups and their physical and social environments. Also called human ecology. 3. The study of the detrimental effects of modern civilization on the environment, with a view toward prevention or reversal through conservation. Also called human ecology.

Yep, they are going to protect the ecology. They are going to protect "The science", "The branch of sociology", and "The Study of". This used to drive my wildlife biology professor nuts when the word ecolgy was used this way. But when you think about it, the bureaucrats are exactly correct in their statement, they are going to protect their own jobs first. All they want is the money.

Yeah... Your Nevada City/Grass Valley area has been invaded and consumed by the artsy fartsy crowd movin in there, then turnin round yellin "RAISE THE DRAWBRIDGE!!!"

When we moved in here from the People's Republic of Davis, the first thing we noticed were the "FLATLANDERS GO HOME!" signs spray painted on State Hwy 49. As soon as we emptied the U-HAUL truck my two sons wanted to go spray that on State Hwy 193, too!!!

I think I will. My guess is, like the squeamish Mr. Leslie, he would rather be on the inside than the outside.

My first command after boot camp was the USS Truckee (AO 147), a fleet oiler. A member of the Neosho class of oilers, eight ships - I believe it was eight - named after rivers. It was a pretty cool ship and being an oiler, we were haze gray and underway all the time.

Here is a picture of the ship -

No way! That was over a quarter century ago and the statute of lamentations ran out a long time ago! (grin, grin, grin)

"My guess is, like the squeamish Mr. Leslie, he would rather be on the inside than the outside."

You couldn't have guessed any more correctly and then proceeded to articulate it any more precisely!!!

The "squeamish" adjective is the epitome of accuracy!!!
