The fallout from this article has just begun and it will take more than a Newsweek retraction to set things right. It is tragic. I pray your son, and the brave men and women he serves with, will remain safe.

mikebake, your post brought back memories for me, you see a year and a half ago my son was in Iraq and i remember our first call from him the day he arrived there. He called as often as he could, but to hear there voice is so special. I pray your son returns safely and God Bless all who serve.

Could you give us a way to write your son and his unit so we can send our support. This might make them feel better.

Course, they'll never say that, but it's what should be said
You can manage the press to your hearts content; but, that is not going to change the reality on the ground. If these Afghans were so easily turned against themselves and against us by so small an event, then they certainly are not worthy of our vested trust. Clearly, these neolithic savages are showing their true colors, and only a fool would pretend otherwise. The only solution is to either get out and seal our own borders against these people, or to get serious about permanently destroying islam and the hatred it spews. It is either us, or them, there is no middle ground.
Newsweek may have struck a match, but the room was already dosed in gasoline, and calling it perfume is not going to change its volatility. If this is war, then it is well past time that we behave like it. In war the only good enemy is a dead enemy.

It's really sad that most people don't even care about what Newsweek has done.I don't care all that much...They've done nothing less than I would expect them to do...The problem is Izlom...We don't need to apologize to any stinkin' Islamonazis for desecrating their satanic bible...
If a muzlim throws a rock at a soldier, shoot him...They don't need a negative article from a liberal magazine to hate Americans...They hate us because we are Americans...And quit worrying about Afghanistan...You'd better start worring about Detroit, and Houston...

Hmm, all week we hear that Bin Laden is close to being found, then this happens and the locals don't want to help anymore.
Just a coincidence, I guess.

Newsweek and Isikoff should be held civilly liable for the deaths the irresponsible reporting caused.
I sure hope that Newsweek's blunder doesn't get any of our troops killed.

Thanks for the post.
My youngest, a Marine Sergeant, is headed back to Iraq for his second tour next month.

I won't post his address here. Frankly he is being pretty well supported with goodies and love, and he and his buddies know they are supported. And I do agree with another that Newsweek may have been the match, but the room was already doused with gasoline.........

Give the town back to the Taliban. This only proves my contention that a muslim rather lives among bad muslims than a generous infidel. Take notice America!

This really upsets me. Prayers for your son! Those Newsweek people will be held accountable by God for their deeds. The ones who did what they did for an evil purpose, He knows.

Oh if only. Great response and it needs to be done.

Rush and Sean already know the truth but will not admit to the danger of the islamic threat to the West. These two are looking out for their own careers.
