The answer is simple and we all know what it is. Under Clinton the Serbs were made the demons so that Slick could help the Muslims. This, along with him and Hillary kissing up to Arafat, were intended to get an Israeli/PLO peace agreement and Slick a PP legacy.
Now it has been shown how bad the Muslims really are but the MSM can't turn loose of the myth less Slick (liberals) look bad and Bush (conservatives) look good. That wouldn't bode well for Hillary's ambitions.
It's happening in Iraq too.

All of that was supposed to get Clinton a Nobel Prize.
Don't forget that it was HILLARY who urged Bill to bomb the living daylights out of the Serbian people -- who were our FRIENDS.
And let's not forget how Clinton very purposely bombed the Serb TV building, killing innocent staff people there (make up girls, cameramen, and technicians --all unarmed civilians and guilty of nothing).
An equivalent act here would have been if Al Qaida had bombed the CNN building in Atlanta, or CBS's headquarters in Manhattan, claiming it was justiable to kill civilians on the grounds that those organizations broadcast pro-American propaganda (although we know it's quite the opposite).
Can you imagine the outrage if that happened? But not a peep from the American media about the bombing of Serb TV .

It's called Neo-Ottomanism.
It's the eastern Christians that are being repressed. If you think about it, the eastern Christians have managed to resist islam in it's various forms for the better part of a 1,000 years.
It's logical in a twisted and evil way that islamic terrorists would be targeting eastern Christians. Not only are they a convenient target of opportunity, they are the ones who are familiar with how islam works, unlike western Christians who have been isolated from islam for the most part.
